Claire Michaels is a very passionate women about cats. Just from talking to her for half an hour it’s clear she is extremely knowledgeable about all things cat. She is a very kind women who went above and beyond during the process of acquiring my current cat Garfield. I cannot think of anyone else who gives as good service as her.
We adopted our beautiful ragdoll, Grace (now Sasha Grace), from Claire at Broadway Ragdolls — and we love her more than words can express! Claire is incredibly passionate about her cats and goes above and beyond to make sure every kitten is matched with the right family. She even took the time to FaceTime with us to ensure it was a great fit. Sasha Grace is affectionate, playful, and perfectly socialized — a true testament to the love and care she received from Claire. We couldn’t be happier and wholeheartedly recommend Broadway Ragdolls to anyone looking for a healthy, well-loved ragdoll kitten!
Amazing experience With this breeder. I could tell from the first phone call that there was genuine care for her clients and cats. We purchased two adorable kittens from this business. They are happy healthy loving souls. Definitely raised with lots of love and a wonderful addition to our family !
I couldn’t be happier with the kitten I got from Broadway ragdolls cattery! My little one is healthy, affectionate, and has such a wonderful temperament—it’s clear he was raised with lots of care. Claire has been amazing from the very beginning, always patient and happy to answer any questions I have, even after bringing my kitten home. You can tell she truly loves and cares about her cats. I would highly recommend Claire to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-cared-for kitten.
I’m the owner of Rarity Ragdolls, a TICA-registered cattery. In 2023, I became involved with Claire Michaels of Broadway Ragdolls after responding to a listing she posted on a business-for-sale platform. The experience that followed has resulted in significant financial loss and unresolved obligations that remain outstanding as of 2025.As part of the initial sale, Claire was to provide six cats and a selection of “nursery materials.” While some items were usable, a portion of the materials were used and not in suitable condition, and I ultimately removed or replaced them for health and safety reasons.Of the six cats she sold me:One queen, specified in the contract and paid for in full, was never provided to me.One king was of Broadway Ragdoll lines and has a clean pedigree, but is a sibling to all of the queens he was intended to be bred with. He has remained in my program and is paired only with unrelated queens. One queen came through another cattery with Broadway Ragdoll lines, has a clean pedigree, and is still part of my program. One male (Jones) was deemed unfit for breeding by a state-licensed veterinarian due to both health and temperament concerns and was returned to Claire. One queen (Lillia) was returned due to severe inbreeding and infertility. One queen (Annie) was retired due to her Type B blood type and the lack of a compatible king. Claire refused to replace her.In a separate transaction in 2024, I sold Claire a breeding cat under a signed contract. She paid a non-refundable deposit, took possession of the kitten, and failed to pay the remaining balance. She has refused to return the cat and has since attempted to retroactively change the terms of that agreement.Claire does not provide customers with formal pedigrees or complete genetic health documentation. I know this firsthand—not only from my experience as a buyer, but also because I helped Claire prepare her “going home” materials. Her standard practice is to provide buyers only with the TICA Certificate of Registration for the sire and dam, which does not include any generational lineage or extended pedigree. When I acquired cats from Claire, I received no 3- or 5-generation pedigrees and had to order them myself in order to assess the bloodlines. Full panel genetic and health testing was also not provided—only basic UC Davis color testing on some of the cats. I had to personally cover the cost of trait and disease testing after taking the cats home. This lack of documentation makes it difficult to responsibly manage genetic diversity, avoid inbreeding, and verify health risks. It also poses a major issue for breeders who rely on transparency and recorded ancestry in order to maintain ethical breeding programs. To date, Claire Michaels and Broadway Ragdolls owe me over $26,000 in unpaid invoices, stud fees, and costs related to returned and misrepresented cats. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this—including formal demand letters from my attorney—these obligations remain unmet. This amount does not reflect the additional financial harm caused by the lack of a viable king after returning Jones. For nearly a year, I was unable to produce any litters because there were no adult kings present in the cattery, which also suppressed the reproductive cycles of my queens. The resulting loss of income and breeding momentum was substantial and directly attributable to Claire’s misrepresentation of the breeding viability of the male she sold me.During this period, Claire and I agreed that I would temporarily borrow one of her kings. As part of the process, my veterinarian required proof of the king’s vaccination status. When we received the documentation, my vet’s office contacted the veterinary practice listed to verify the information—only to discover that no veterinarian by that name had ever worked there, and the office had no record of the cat in question. Both my vet’s office and I were subsequently contacted by a New York Police Department detective regarding the matter. This was the second time I had been contacted by an NYPD detective in connection with Broadway Ragdolls. I do not know the outcome of these investigations, but the incident raised further concerns about the integrity of Claire’s documentation and practices. This account is supported by contracts, emails, veterinary documentation, genetic test results, and receipts. I am sharing this information to protect other breeders and buyers from similar losses. If you are considering doing business with Claire Michaels or Broadway Ragdolls, I strongly advise you to proceed with caution, get everything in writing, and independently verify all pedigrees, health clearances, and genetic documentation before committing to any purchase or collaboration.
Claire and the Broadway Ragdoll family is just amazing!!!! She is so kind and informative and accommodating. After a life of having dogs I made the plunge to adopt a cat in January 2024. Claire and I got on the phone to discuss my lifestyle, personality and what I’m looking for in a kitty companion. She matched me with my sweet Piper (formerly known as Bernice) who was 2 years old and had lots of love to give. Claire gave me everything I needed to know for my first cat from an exhaustive list of what I needed to purchase to food to get her started to hand delivering her to my door in NYC. She so clearly cares for her cats in a very special way, letting me know that Piper was a lover and wanted to be the star of the show as an only pet for a while. As a first time cat owner, I was nervous about what could come with cats’ little idiosyncrasies and Claire was so patient and kind to answer every single one of my phone calls, texts and questions. To this day, Piper has never once growled, hissed, scratched or bitten a single soul. She comes when she’s called and loves to spend her days in my lap or next to me on the windowsill and follows me around everywhere I go. Her favorite part of the day is her morning cuddle time when we wake up and she’s always happy to greet me with a chirp trill or meow when I look her way. Thank you so much for my best friend Claire!!
Bought my first Broadway Ragdoll kitty 12 years ago. They have been there all this time to inform, educate, help, support and guide me about the wonderful personality about these Cool Cats. Leo is healthy, beautiful, playful, affectionate, entertaining and going strong. They have been on Animal Planet and are still in business. Broadway Ragdoll's are the Cat Whisperers of the felines. Great Choice, Great Experience!!!!
Claire, only sells legal and healthy kittens. She sold me a kitten with a health check by a vetanarian, the first kitty shots and a sterilization She also checked the kitten for genetic defects She has also a more personal service I would buy my next kitty at hers
From the moment I contacted Claire I knew I would find a baby thru her. We had lost a kitten two months earlier (a genentic mutation and another cattery out of state) and really wanted another. We were just heartbroken. Claire was very sympathetic and extremely responsive. She was going to find us a match. There were no new litters available but she did have a little guy who was seven months old who she had been looking to find a home for.We had a FaceTime call before signing anything so Claire could be sure he was going to the right family. Then we had him delivered to us in Manhattan. He is just perfection. The love and care this woman and her cattery staff give to these cats is amazing. And the proof is in their beauty and temperment🩵
