I visited a restaurant recently and ordered the fish pie, which turned out to be quite disappointing. The portion was small, dry, lacked flavor, and had very little fish—only two prawns. At £19.50, I felt that even a £6 option from a grocery store would have been a better choice. This is not the quality I anticipated, and the dish definitely needs improvement.
The venue is beautiful, and the staff were delightful. The food was enjoyable, and they made special arrangements for a wheelchair user very well. Unfortunately, I can't give a full 5 stars because when we requested the fish to be filleted due to my limited use of one hand, the waiter returned saying it couldn't be done. Thankfully, I managed to show my grandson how to do it. It's a pity, as we had higher expectations.
This venue is truly lovely, and the staff were pleasant. The food was enjoyable, and they made great accommodations for a wheelchair user. However, I can't give a full 5 stars because when we requested the fish to be filleted due to my limited use of one hand, the waiter returned saying it wasn't possible. Thankfully, I was able to teach my grandson how to do it. It's unfortunate, as we had higher expectations.
I stopped by this quaint cafe during a visit and had a hot chocolate and a bacon sandwich that arrived promptly. The bread was fresh, and the sandwich was generously filled. While I prefer my hot chocolate steaming hot, the overall experience was delightful. The place was bustling by the time I finished, and I will certainly return on my next visit.
We enjoyed a delightful breakfast while celebrating my daughter's birthday. The food was excellent, and our server was friendly and attentive. This wasn't our first time being served by her; she has consistently provided exceptional service. Thank you for making our experience so special!
Having frequented this establishment for years, I was disappointed during my recent visit. The bar area was converted into dining space, making it challenging for us to meet there. We were seated at a dark table near the bar instead of a booth. The Christmas menu was our only option, and the prawn cocktails were served cold, lacking flavor. The Christmas dinners were drenched in thick gravy, which looked unappetizing, and the food quality did not justify the price. We also requested extra custard for dessert but received only small amounts, which came with an additional charge. Overall, a very disappointing experience!
I met two friends for a birthday brunch, and we were served by a charming waiter who guided us through the menus. Two opted for the bottomless brunch while one chose from the regular menu. He was attentive and allowed us plenty of time. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon and appreciated his efforts to keep our drinks filled. We look forward to returning for another great experience!
While shopping in the city center, we visited this venue for Sunday lunch. The staff were excellent—polite and welcoming. However, the meal was lukewarm, and the roast potatoes were frozen and stale. In hindsight, we should have voiced our concerns when asked about the food. For the price we paid, it did not offer good value or enjoyment.
