We have been customers of Bushlore since 2018. For four years, we have rented 4x4s for longer periods of time, allowing us to discover more of southern Africa every year, including South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, and Zambia. Partly due to Bushlore's excellent service and simply because we cannot get enough of traveling through Southern Africa, we purchased a Hilux with Alucab Khaya unit from Bushlore in March 2024, which in the meantime we have already traveled with twice for two months. Best decision ever, perfect delivery, everything as agreed and, last but not least, the superb service we received again this year from John and Bruce at Bushlore Cape Town and from KB and Simon at Bushlore Maun. The customer-friendliness of the Bushlore team both at the head office in Johannesburg and in the service depots is unparalleled and not only does it make us feel like we've gotten a good deal, but knowing that you can rely on them is worth its weight in gold.
Just came back from a 3-week Namibia trip where we rented a Bushlore Hi-Camp for 4 persons (a pimped-up safari / tent vehicle.Very satisfied. Great communication in advance. Professional team in Windhoek. Vehicle in great condition and fully equipped. We had no issues.When we gave the vehicle back, we had lost a spade (probably stolen by somebody on the trip) and made a medium dell in the wheel housing (we do not know how how that happened but I guess somebody damaged our car while we were parking). No issue at all.We have travelled a lot in Southern Africa and this was our best (and most high-tech) vehicle so far.
Bushlore Windhoek was amazing! We rented the Toyota Hilux for almost 4 weeks. It was the perfect car for driving and sleeping. The people made the difference. They were so friendly and explained us everything.We returned the car not in the exact same shape as we received it (Botswana roads are rough!), but they were understanding and made no fuzz. Together with Africa Driven (Drive Botswana) they made our trip stressless and unforgettable
Great communication from day one. No issues with the car, and everything we could have possibly needed was provided.They will also drop you off or pick you up for no charge (depending on location). Talked us through how to operate everything.Would highly recommend. Friendly and professional. Tip: read the folder they provide before your trip- if has some very useful tips and information if you are off-roading
We rented a fully camping equipped Land Cruiser for 4 people. They picked us up from our accomodation and took us to their office. We were given a very thorough walktrough of the car, instructions on how to use it, possibilities, requirements and a lot of good advice.Everything worked according to spesifications, and it was obvious that they had done this before. They new what we needed to know, and gave us all the information without us even knowing that we would need it.The equipment was quite new or very well kept (Brand new tires, very clean sleepingbags, towels and sheets, and no problem with any of it.Upon return, there were a few items missing, but they made no fuzz about that. We had to cover for damage we hade made on the vehicle, but everything was according to what we had agreed and paid in advance, so no surprices. All in all we were treated very friendly and professionally, and felt safe with this company.
We've hired camping land cruisers from Bushlore in Namibia twice now. They are the best car hire company we have ever used (and we've travelled a fair amount and hired lots of cars over the years!)Both times we drove the vehicle in some remote areas and sustained cosmetic scratches, and destroyed a couple of cooking pans in the camp fire. They made no fuss at all, and were extremely pragmatic about the fact we had used the vehicle as it was intended (in complete contrast to other car hire companies!).This year our car broke down in a dry river a 5-6 hours drive from Windhoek. However, they sent a couple of mechanics from Windhoek with a spare part. The mechanics arrived with us at 9pm after their long drive, and immediately fixed the vehicle. We were on our way the next day. All part of the service. We cannot praise them highly enough.
Absolutely unsatisfied. Old car. Broken air conditioning. Difficulty in closing the trunk.What has affected me the most is that they offer you the option to fully cover the risks, making you feel like you can drive around without worries, but later on, they present you with costs that you still have to pay. Of course, they are quick to refer to the fine print in the contract.Very disappointing!
Have admired their vehicles in parks for 10+ years - always look good so decided to take the plunge - bit more expensive but thought we’d see if we got better for the extra. We did and it was worth it.Good to deal with. Very good Hilux, ŵell equipped.Tyres are very important for us as we have had issues with some hires. The tyres on the vehicle we hired (including both spares) were PERFECT - I didn’t have any worries about punctures.Like a muppet I managed to break the lens on a rear light. Let them know so they could arrange repair before it went to next hirer. No fuss, just got the repair amount and extremely reasonable - no attempt to overcharge me.WHOLEHEARTEDLY RECOMMEND Bushlore. Don’t hesitate to book it’s worth paying a bit more for a better vehicle
Bushlore are a fantastic company. They were helpful by email, before we arrived in Windhoek. The vehicle was brilliant, took us where we wanted to go, and never let us down. We had a fantastic holiday camping in remote parst of Namibia - with a two fridges, two gas bottles, camping stove, a shower and 120 litre of water! When we returned they efficiently took the vehicle, and didn't even raise an eyebrow when we returned the melted kettle - it turns out we couldn't make coffee on a campfire! We have hired many vehicles, in different countries, and we have had many bad experiences. Bushlore are a breath of fresh air doing exactly what they said they would.
Very impressed with Bushlore .Value for money and great vehicle.We did have a battery issue which was sorted out as soon as they could.Not really complaining but make sure you allow over 3 hours for the hand over . Lots of demo’s and paper work. I had hoped and expected this to take just over an hour so this did mess up our plans a bit.Would definitely use again if we get a chance.
