As a group of four adults, one five-year-old, and one six-year-old, we reserved the Santa experience to create a magical moment for our two little girls. While we were initially impressed by the lovely Christmas decorations in the lobby, the overall experience quickly declined from the adults' perspective. Upon being seated at our designated table, it became clear that it had not been cleaned from the previous guests, and the staff only attended to this while we were sitting there. The lukewarm coffee served by the elves lacked enthusiasm. After a lengthy wait, our food finally arrived. The tiered stand was filled with store-bought cakes, with not a single homemade scone in sight! I had previously confirmed my food allergy information regarding cocoa, and it was supposedly recorded, yet a chocolate cake had to be swapped out for a biscuit that was clearly store-bought. As our food was served, we were called to take the girls to see Santa, leaving our meal unattended. Santa was wonderful, and the girls truly cherished the experience. They received gifts, which unfortunately caused quite a commotion. Both girls had long, loose hair, and the toys quickly became tangled in their hair, leading to tears and one child needing to have her hair cut to free the toy! With a lack of entertainment, the children resorted to playing with the fake snow scattered on the floor, which was disheartening for us as parents. I completed the follow-up questionnaire regarding our thoughts about the event, stating we wouldn't book again, but I have yet to receive any feedback.
The meal I had at an event led to severe food poisoning, as it was the only food I consumed that day. This has left me feeling extremely unwell, resulting in significant lost income right before the holiday season and added stress as I prepare to move in just two days.
We waited an astonishing 45 minutes for a pastry! The service was appalling. The coffee took 20 minutes to arrive, and it was the wrong order. I had to take the coffee because I couldn't bear to wait another 30 minutes! The entire place seemed neglected.
The food at an event I attended caused me the worst food poisoning I've ever experienced, as it was the only meal I had that day. I have been left completely incapacitated, resulting in significant lost income just before the holiday season and making my upcoming house move extremely stressful.
I urge you not to book with this establishment. My husband gifted me a massage voucher, but after four months of complaints and numerous calls, no one has responded. We are left with a £93 voucher that we cannot use due to the ongoing refurbishment. Despite requesting a refund, they claim they cannot refund vouchers even though we can't book.
I'm surprised by the negative reviews because my partner and I just returned from a spa day and overnight stay and were thoroughly impressed. The staff were polite and professional, the facilities were outstanding, our suite was beautiful, and the food was excellent. Special thanks to the receptionist who was particularly helpful. It was everything we anticipated from a top-tier resort, and we are already planning our return.
My wife, granddaughter, and I decided to eat at a local restaurant after seeing the lights, and it was a mistake. The service was mediocre. We waited 35 minutes for our food, which was poorly prepared. The burger was overcooked, the fries were undercooked, and the pizza was soggy. I am a retired chef and was shocked by the quality of the food, especially given the price. We will not be returning.
After several years as a member, the quality of service at the gym has significantly declined. There are frequent closures and equipment issues, with management showing little concern for member experiences. This month's series of issues, without any adjustment to billing despite being the most expensive gym in the area, has pushed me to consider alternative memberships elsewhere.
Avoid booking any spa vouchers; it has been a nightmare trying to arrange anything or even speak with someone. They promised a callback for booking but never followed through. The contact number has issues, and I will not be using this service again.
My daughter and her family, along with another family, booked a stay at the hotel. On the first day, my granddaughter, who is 5, was injured when a heavy door suddenly closed on her finger. The staff were supportive, and the hospital indicated that similar incidents had occurred before. We later contacted the management about the incident but received little acknowledgment. Although my daughter received a refund, the other family did not. The hotel must ensure the safety of their doors. Overall, the handling of serious complaints was very disappointing.
