I tell you what when I made the decision to go withChime I made the best decision of my life. Customer service has always there and nice and helps me with whatever I may need. The fees are doable. I have nothing negative to say about time only positive if you're not with time now you need to be saves you a lot of hassle on overdraft fees and all.

I have been with Chime since beginning of 2020. Had zero issues and absolutely loved them. Everything came to a standstill a few weeks ago when, to my literal shock, I get on my app and there is a notification across the top saying my account is being closed, I needed to transfer anything there and they would not accept anything to come through with a date of official closure. No notification otherwise mentioning anything of the sort. Not one call, not even an email. I was so confused and distraught over the entire situation. A week or so later I finally realized that I needed to know, there was nothing done differently and felt I it was time to get with support and address the issue so I could stop beating myself over it, especially when I know I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary or in violation of any terms. There was one more big push for me to get these answers.. I find someone else venting over the issue and just as surprised as I was. Then others poured in. Did something get leaked? Did accounts on high scale get hacked of some sort? Is there more to this? I had never, in 6 years, EVER heard of a closure of accounts in this size and with no information or explanation to the very people that got them there. There was zero way to appeal it and no logical reasoning behind closures in this multitude to happen.

Now, I’m in no way saying this is information is what happened, this is my opinion only, just to be clear. Although, this is more justified than what is happening. So I reached out. The person I spoke with looked at my account and said she could see no reason for the closure, therefore she reversed it and told me chime would be emailing the information for the incident. I was excited and was so happy I reached out and the result of being able to keep my account active and no closure over this technical glitch. Or so I thought.

A week in… there is it again on my app. I reach out and get the same response from the first person, then was transferred. The second person lets me know the decision is final and closure will be on stated date. She would not give any details on why or answer anything, even why it was reversed the first time. Again, some promise to get an email with reasoning behind the decision. Again, never received. So, heads up to their current and future customers. Since they will not give notification, respectably inform customers, while just shrugging it off, I felt it was worth sharing and holding my integrity and dignity high. Account holders deserve to know. A closure could be detrimental to a customer that has no other bank account or another elsewhere, this is a potential loss of and big blow to their credit, for example.

I will end this here, one last hooyah: Hey Chime, even if I hate that it’s come to this. I do however, urge you guys to inform customers of ANY kind of account action and the valid reasoning behind drastic actions like. Maybe, consider appeals for both parties, thus making sure that decisions are fair, dependent on a case by case basis, utmost professionalism and transparency for all. I hope there is a resolution for my case not resulting in closure, high hopes and disappointment from this soon to be former Chime member.

I have been using Chime Bank for about 2 years haven't had any issues and really like the features, the only problem I have constantly complain about is the tipping system,i wish there was a way to create the amount you would like to tip, instead of preset amounts,i frankly believe that Chime would generate more money versus a person not tipping because they are offended by the preset amounts

Tonight I experienced what can only be described as a complete collapse of professionalism from Chime customer service.
The first representative I spoke to didn’t place me on hold. He didn’t explain anything. He didn’t disconnect. He simply went silent and stayed on the line, ignoring everything I said — pretending there was a phone issue rather than doing his job. I have never experienced something so blatantly dismissive.
When I called back, I was connected with a representative named Ronnie. What followed was even worse.
Ronnie placed me on hold for 20 minutes to check a basic deposit history — a routine request that should take moments. When he returned, I asked for accountability. I requested his last initial. He refused. I asked for a supervisor or manager. He refused. I made it clear I was no longer comfortable continuing with him and wanted escalation. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Ronnie hung up on me.
Hung up.
This wasn’t a misunderstanding. This wasn’t a technical issue. This was deliberate disregard.
Being ignored. Being stalled. Being denied basic escalation. Being disconnected when asking for accountability.
If this is the culture Chime allows in its customer service department, customers deserve to know that when they need help, they may be met with silence, stonewalling, and disconnection.

Chime doesn't really have bill pay. They have a list of companies that you could pay using your Chime account. We could only pay our internet provider using their bill pay. Also, Chime had a bonus signup of $350. To meet the requirements, you needed to open a checking account and have $200 in direct deposits in a 30 day period to get the first $100. You get another $100 the second month after $200 in direct deposits. You get the final $350 in the third month after $200 in direct deposits. Since we get paid every two weeks (and this is a secondary account,) we made each direct deposit $150 for a total of $300 a month. We got the bonus the first month, but not the second or third. We reached out to them only to be told that their system didn't recognize any direct deposits under $200. If we wanted to deposit $300 a month into our account, one deposit had to be $200 and the other $100, which is ridiculous. So although we did meet the requirements, the computer system thinks we didn't. Despite the fact that we fulfilled our end, Chime customer service claims that they are not able to make the correction.

If you value your money, don't trust Chime. Disputes never approved. EVEN THOUGH YOU NEVER MADE A PURCHASE. All they will say is "we determined no error occured". That is literally a load of crap. Now I'm out $77 for a greyhound trip I never had any knowledge of? Greyhound is equally unhelpful. This company is a joke. This is just one of SEVERAL bad experiences I have had. Same answer "we determined no error occured" F CHIME. GO WITH A TRUSTED BANK.

A merchant withdrew $619.98 from my account for services that were never delivered. I promptly filed a dispute and provided clear supporting documentation demonstrating that the services were not rendered. I also submitted complaints to the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission in an effort to resolve the matter.

Despite the documentation provided, I was informed that the investigation may not be resolved until May 8, 2026. This extended timeframe is concerning, particularly given the clarity of the evidence submitted. Furthermore, after I filed external complaints, the merchant stated that a refund had been released and advised me to contact my financial institution for further assistance.

Unfortunately, my attempts to obtain clarification from the dispute department have been unsuccessful. Customer service representatives have been unable or unwilling to provide detailed updates, confirm whether my documentation has been reviewed, or escalate the matter to a supervisor. I have repeatedly been told only that the investigation department is reviewing the case, without any meaningful information regarding progress or resolution.

It is deeply frustrating that recovering funds wrongfully taken from my account may take up to 90 days, especially when fees and charges are processed immediately. As a result of this experience, I am seriously reconsidering my relationship with this financial institution.

I thought that Chime was a good deal but I thought wrong.

I’ve been using Chime for years now and would highly recommend to anyone. I mean it grows your savings, help you save by rounding up might I say. And you be surprised how much you save just by rounding up. Builds your credit slowly but surely. Has a loan process between paychecks. They also offer auto payments. I can’t forget the spot me they have. I mean you can increase that by boosting friends or if you can find other chime members. It’s just a great Bank if you havent tried it try it. I’ve heard people having a bad experience but that’s not my experience but you k ow that comes with anything and anyone nothing is perfect. But it’s things close to perfect and this is it. Trust me sign up relax and get paid 3 to 4 days earlier
