Review Time
Total loss finding anyone for our 50th reunion. Instead I got their email weekly baiting me with the idea people were checking in. Yeah, over 20 years ago! Not a single new check-in. I missed canceling the 3 month auto renewal and I got charged a second $28 fee. My bad. So I went to the site to cancel and it never confirmed. So I totally deleted the account. THAT DOES NOT CANCEL THE RENEWAL!! I got a third notice $28 was taken out after the fact. They DO have a phone number listed and they DO answer in a reasonable period. A human being confirmed the renewal was canceled but NO refund. LOUSY VALUE, MISLEADING ADVERTIZING, and DISREPUTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Cons@ Difficult cancellation process@ Frequent unauthorized charges@ Poor customer service responseThis is from the Consumer Affairs talking about Classmates.com. Would you go to a website that feature ANY complaints? Their rating on EVERY review site is lower than 1.4 stars out of 5!!This is a shyster company that has zero refunds and zero customer service. If you click on ANYTHING on this website you have signed up for recurring fees. Period.Avoid this site or lose money, your choice.P.S. I gave them a 1 star out of 5 because the software would let me give them less!! Or I would have!
After years of relentlessly being pursued by them, I saw what appeared to be a personal message from a classmate. I finally caved in and paid for a 2-year subscription. The impression I got prior to paying was that the "shrouded" visits from people I might know, would be made transparent after joining. That didn't happen. Long story short, I don't see any difference between when I paying and when I had the free membership. Then, a couple of months ago, the notifications stopped coming to my e-mail whereas prior to, I was getting several per day. The messages that come to my box within the site are just generic ones from administrators, not people I knew. I don't plan to renew when the membership expires.
If I could give it less than one star, I would. I found absolutely no benefit to having this site. I made no connections and got no info about my classmates from it. Monumental waste of money.PS Canceling it is nearly impossible.
Their membership is for a year. I thought sure I turned off the autorenewal a long time ago and with no email letting me know the renewal was coming, I was just charged today, the expiration date. I turned off the autorenewal (again) and couldn't find anywhere to speak with anyone about canceling the membership. I am on a fixed income and went through Turbo Debt who helped me budget everything to the penny, saving a little every month for everything even if it's a dollar a month. I should have deleted my debit card, and not trusted them about the autorenewal thing. I can also prove that I went through an assault in July that I am still recovering from which means I have not been able to try any part time work to make up charges from July/August as it is. Does a large company like Classmates care? We'll see. The charge just appeared and today is the exp. date.
Please reconsider if thinking about wasting money on Classmates.com. Not a reputable organization whatsoever. Read the other reviews for details. Let me just say that after wasting an hour, I was unable to connect or get information about anyone I know. The site randomly connected me to MANY people I did not know well or at all. I am extremely depressed and disheartened after wasting $30.
If i could leave 0 stars, I would, this company is a scam, they make their money on automatically renewing ,and then will not refund your money.BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS ! YOU WILL NOT FIND ANY FRIENDS OR CLASSMATES THAT YOU DO NOT ALREADY KNOW.Tom OsborneMilledgeville Ga.
Classmates.com is a total scam of a company. They bill you for auto-renewal of their "services" without previous notice and then insist that they sent you an email 45 days in advance of your payment. Then they refuse to refund you. Seems to me refunding a mere $60 or so would be worth it, but I guess they prefer paying out millions in lawsuits for their phony services instead. I'm warning all my previous classmates that I'm still in contact with who've registered on the site. Disgraceful and untrustworthy business practices from this scam company, and not worth the time or money you may even choose to put into it. Because they'll charge you even when you opt out by making cancellations nearly impossible when you DON'T choose to remain with them.
Signed up for the free profile just to see who else from my class or school was on it. Mostly nobody and those few provided little information about themselves. Also prodded a lot to sign up for a paid membership. I think you are better off looking for people on social sites rather then this site.
