Review Time
Like many others they automatically renewed my annual membership without notifying me of the upcoming renewal. I check all of my email during the time they said they sent it and it was nowhere to be found. Beware, and if you sign up be sure to mark your calendar of the renewal date. I hate to be scammed but they got in my pocket and I blame them and me. No receipt, charge just showed up on my bank statement.
Classmates is guilty of theft and fraud---I did not want to renw this year, took out my financial information already 5/2024 so they could nto renew--it is gone-even have the screen shot-notified me 5/26/2025 they would renew I wrote them told them NO they did it anyway and it is theft and fraud by Classmates-I filed with Paypal who said you got the service startin5/26/25-this company is a scam so I will make it hard for them--I contacted the company that owns them People Connect and am going to file in court--beware---they are doing this routinely to try to stay relevant and it is fraud and theft--
Classmates.com is not only terrible if you try and resign they have no protection if a member harassed you. I joined and was constantly being bothered by an old classmate who wouldn't stop. When I told him to stop contacting me he got angry and called me nasty names. Classmates did nothing . This is serious. I will now need to get police involved.
Once you sign up for the "premium" version, you'll still get lots of ads on the site. They email you daily. The site is low rent and poorly designed. I complained to Classmates that I was being harassed by another member twice. They did nothing. I hate Facebook, but this site is even worse. You'll also get constant ads about buying a copy of your yearbook for "only" $90. Don't. Just don't.
A bogus BS scam all protected by a bunch of legalese crap which should give anyone that reads the terms and conditions would be a glaring flag about this business. Never advised of a billed renewal policy that I could recall but it was most likely hidden in their legal terms. You have to dig pretty deep to find a phone number and then they direct you to their site to run you around the barn even more. Stay away from this outfit and you’ll reduce your frustration level big time !
I started our classmates.com site on July 3, 2009.While there have been some 'glitches' over the years, when compared to other alumni sites I have looked at, we have chosen to stay with CC. There are a multitude of things you can do with their site: an obituary page, announcements on the home page, administrators can email the class, or email selected classmates, create pages, a forum for everyone to participate in, private messages between members, each member can post pictures on their 'page,' and administrators can create pages with pictures, such as events like reunions, luncheons, etc., easy link to recover your password should you forget it, each member has a profile as well as a contact information page the can update. There is a help page where administrators [webmasters] from other classcreator sites [around the world] can share ideas, help each other, etc., as well as menu of literally hundreds of help topics. Is it obvious, that I recommend you use classcreator.com? You bet it is!
Fraudulent site overpopulated with fake profiles. When in my class, maybe 5-8 stood out who actually graduated and the rest are all fake profiles. Including the ones who message me. Makes the entire experience of being here quite a creepy one. Who knows what sort of info they data mine off of you.
In regards to recurring billing, I was told by customer service via phone that notification is given at the time billing info is entered and that an e mail is sent, but I never saw anything, so if you sign up, you will be auto billed for the plan you selected, so cancel the account if you do not need it. I find this to be a bad business practice, as it tends to make people angry, but they make a ton off of sheeple who do not pay attention, so they continue to do it. I called the day my plan renewed and was debited, but the 1st line rep could not stop it, so I was told I would receive a call back in 2 days. I sat on hold for 9 minutes for this result! What a waste of time!
Signed up for the free option. They keep sending me emails that people are visiting my page and leaving me notes. They will not give you any info on the visitors until you pay for an upgraded membership. I got more visits than I had friends in high school. Do not expect anything helpful from this site.
