As a long time customer AND seller on Depositphotos, I do not appreciate being given AI generation credits when I am strongly against generative AI on principle and therefore did not ask for these credits. I also don't appreciate the fact that as a seller I was not given the option to opt out of having my files used for their generative AI engine. I will be removing all of my files from DP's website as soon as possible and will not be purchasing any more credit packs or subscriptions from the site unless/until they stop using a generative AI engine as a way to generate more content while paying their seller even less.
As an author who designs her own covers, swag and graphics I know I can almost always find the image I’m looking for on Depositphoto. Even though I have accounts on other photo sites, I rarely use them because Depositphoto’s images are so reasonably priced and their selection is top notch.

While I've always liked the quality of images, I'm disturbed by being "opted in" to the AI image generator. That's THEFT of artists' work for bad derivatives, and I don't want to contribute to harming real artists. Additionally, I was sent an email saying I'd purchased an image pack, but I haven't purchased anything in two years. This is disconcerting and bad communication on DP's part.
