The website reminds me of a 1st grade tech project gone wrong! To start with, they don't dynamicall

The website reminds me of a 1st grade tech project gone wrong! To start with, they don't dynamically link their database to the insurers, it is batch loaded (how 80's). They can't even get the vernacular right. They call a case number a VCN in the app, but they don't cross reference anything. I tried to renew my registration and after submitting proof of insurance, they said they don't accept out of state insurance from Geico, San Diego CALIFORNIA. Then the response said (because it was a rejection letter) that if and when the proof I sent (the same PDF Geico sent me) that there would be no reply??? What? You can't trigger a FREE email?? Then, instead of realizing that I am re-regestering a car already in my "garage" on the website, it repeatedly asks me for the license plate and vin like 4 times, has anybody heard of cache or markers? And how much did we get scammed (I mean charged) out of, wasn't it 800million?? For what? I could hire high school students who would do a more competent job than the complete frauds who wrote this. And I don't want to hear about how old their system is. You could do the front end on many modern platforms and the default interfaces would do a better job. If I had to grade this, it would be detention for the student and a swift firing of the teacher (oh I forgot, you can't fire teachers for inadequacy. Sorry!) The overall grade would be a F------------ Lets get our money back and hire a team that isn't related to the Boxers or Feinstein's. Sorry for the rant, it needed saying.

Christina and Lisa at the Manteca,Ca…

Christina and Lisa at the Manteca,Ca DMV went above and beyond the call of duty for me today Thursday October 30,2025. My appointment was at 11am and I didn't have the correct eye paper work and I had to reschedule my drive test. I left went to my doctor's office and got the correct paperwork and brought it back and spoke to Christina. She went out of her way and told me to come back at 3pm to complete my drive test. I want to thank both Lisa and Christina from the bottom of my heart for fitting me in and going above and beyond your job duties.Kimberly Hankins

CRIMINALS

California DMV won't take complaints about extremely loud cars. They advocate noise pollution because they don't block registration renewals for cars that are extremely loud. California DMV is guilty of violating EPA noise pollution regulations when the DMV employees don't restrict registrations from extremely loud cars that make noise pollution for many blocks. They're criminals by negligence when they don't enforce noise pollution standards against extremely loud cars. Also, they're really creepy too because they won't take any complaints about extremely loud cars. The DMV is getting away with helping people annoying the general population with extremely loud cars. The DMV employees willfully and intentionally allow registration renewals for extremely loud cars knowing the cars are extremely loud.

Unsatisfactory Customer Service

On the DMV website, it was very difficult to find the customer service phone number, and I ended up having to look it up on Google. When I called the number, I was greeted by "Miles," an automatic voice, who could not comprehend my question, and there was no option to talk to a living person. So, I ended up having to use the customer service chat for the website, where same "Miles" greeted me. I requested to speak to an agent and I was told the average wait time was 10 minutes, and yet I have been waiting for so long that I'm writing this review to pass the time.

FOR WHATEVER REASON. IT BUGGS OUT EVERY TIME AND I HAVE SPENT HOURS. TRYING TO FIX IT. I am so done with this bullshit

If I were trying to make the DMV bad

If I were trying to make the DMV bad, It woudnt be close to the reality. My experience anyway. I spent parts of five days on the computer, at a VSR contractor who I paid $408, 3 trips to the DMV, arguing with agents. eventually I did get vehicle title transferred and the vehicle registered in my name.

DMV IS APATHETIC AND PATHETIC…

It would be nice if the DMV would remember WE THE TAXPAYERS pay their salaries and they work for us and we do not work for them. The inefficiency of this office only proves government employees can care less. They are protected because they work for the government and therefore give a half hearted effort. I had made an appointment and when I arrived, amazingly even with my confirmation number... My information was not listed. If this agency as well as ALL Government agencies were accountable, I believe 85 to 90% of the employees would be fired.

3 stars?

3 stars? I wondered where the online chat agents were...writing their own positive reviews! The online chatbot is no help and my live chat was terminated by the DMV website after a 75 minute wait because I had not responded? FTW? I needed help uploading documents because the website "upload" prompt just led to a feedback loop of "upload" prompts. I needed help accessing the interactive e-earning course because I could not find the link to it on the website (same feedback loop experience.) I went to the DMV office in person without an appointment and got everything straightened out eventually. The in person experience, even w/o an appointment was much quicker and less frustrating that the attempt to use the website. BTW I use computers daily in my business so I'm not exactly computer illiterate.
