Review Time
I had a very frustrating experience with the service. I paid £160 for a job, but just 24 hours later, the issue returned. They refused to come back to fix it unless I paid another £120. The day before, I was assured it was guaranteed, but the next day, that assurance vanished. It's unfair to expect someone, especially an older person, to pay twice. If I had let them return, it would have cost me £280 in total. Instead, I opted for a drain unblocker myself. I paid in cash, so I can't reclaim the money from my bank. I’ve shared my experience with friends, family, and neighbors—there are 85 of them. Please take this into consideration.
Dwp plumbers medwayDisgraceful co...would never recommend them to anyone..Ripped me off ..paid 160£ for a job.24hrs later problem back again..They would not come out to fix it UNLESS I PAID ANOTHER 120£.DAY BEFORE TOLD IT WAS G'TEED ..THEN NEXT DAY IT WASNT G'TEED..THEY NEVER DO THAT...HOW CAN AN OAP afford to pay out twice..if i was stupid enough to let them come out again it would of cost me 280£ ....so used drain unblocker instead....I paid cash unfortunately so cant claim back from my bank..wont be doing that again..have told my friends, family and neighbours all 85 of them.i live in an Over 50's flat.please take note ...
My experience with DW Plumbing Services was extremely disappointing. I initially contacted the company on a Thursday, and this individual promised that a technician would arrive the next day, Friday, between 9AM & 10AM Unfortunately, he never showed up at between those times and when I followed up, he pushed the time to 11:30 AM, and then to 4:30 PM due to other jobs. When the technician arrived a very young chap. He inspected the leaky tap and the bath panel but never mentioned that the fix would be temporary. He only told my wife at the very end and charged £129 including VAT.The next morning, when I called the company to inform them that the tap was still leaking, we had a very heated exchange. He refused to refund any money or send someone back to fix the issue properly. I feel completely ripped off and will not be using their services again.
Good job but costs not made clear!! £120 an hour - I heard £120 for the first hour then £60. Turns out the £60 is for each half hour - so £120 an hour. Would never have booked if I'd known it was £120 per hour. Also, charged travel time as plumber was not carrying stock.
> Overpriced, misleading and unprofessional experience.I contacted DW Plumbing Services for a simple kitchen sink waste and overflow replacement. Over the phone, I was quoted £120 plus VAT.However, after the job was done, I received a bill for £248.40 — more than double the quoted price. What’s worse is that the plumber didn’t actually spend 1.5 hours working. He left midway, claiming he needed to collect parts from his van, and disappeared for a while, unnecessarily extending the job duration. Anyone familiar with plumbing would know this job should take no more than an hour. The £162 labour charge for 1.5 hours is completely unjustified and far above standard Medway rates. When I questioned the invoice, I didn’t receive a clear or fair explanation.I’ve since spoken to other local plumbers who confirmed this job should typically cost £120–£150 including VAT.I strongly advise anyone to get a written, fixed-price quote before allowing this company to start any work. I regret trusting them and feel thoroughly overcharged. After I posted this review, the business owner Richard contacted me, insisting that I remove my review. He claimed our disagreement was due to a language barrier and asked about my nationality — which I found completely irrelevant and unprofessional. He then told me that unless I deleted my review, he would speak to his solicitor about taking action against me. As a “gesture,” he offered to discount if I agreed to remove the review. I explained that money was no longer the issue — what mattered to me was honesty, trust, and sharing my genuine experience.Despite this, he kept repeating the same thing: “We did a professional job, you only care about money.”The worst part is — today I discovered that my sink is leaking again from the same area they supposedly fixed. When I called the company, Richard once again said he would only send someone to look at it if I removed my review first.I reminded him that when the plumber did the job, I specifically asked about the guarantee, and was told that they would come back for free if there was any issue.Richard dismissed this and told me bluntly, “I don’t care what you were told. Remove the review or do whatever you like.”This is by far the most unprofessional, unethical and manipulative customer service I’ve experienced in the UK. I stand by my review, and I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when dealing with this company.UPDATE 2:After leaving my honest review about my poor experience with DW Plumbing Services, the owner, Richard, contacted me again. In his message, he accused me of writing a “defamatory review” simply for sharing my genuine experience, threatened legal action through his solicitor, and claimed there was no workmanship guarantee — despite what I was told by his staff at the time of the job.He also stated that unless I removed my review, he would not honour any aftercare on the leaking job they did. This kind of intimidation and dismissive attitude is highly unprofessional and deeply concerning. For clarity:I shared a truthful account of what happened. The leak under my sink is still ongoing.I was quoted a lower price over the phone than what I was charged.I was offered a refund only on the condition of removing my review. And now, I’m being accused of defamation simply for sharing the facts. This is unacceptable behaviour for any business and I would strongly advise others to be extremely careful when dealing with this company.
charged for 3hrs to replace a like for like electric shower that was quoted at 1/1.5hrs is unreasonable. VAT add on top of the retail price of the shower supplied is a rip off. He argued that they are a business hence the VAT. It seems they are not even VAT registered. The shower wouldn't even switch on or off as it's suppose to so they did some makeshift work fix the problem. No recommendation from me.
The plumber (can't remember his name) was unable to visit at the agreed time, but came later in the evening and sorted out the problem (seized up stopcocks). After leaving, an unexpected problem arose ( a tap blockage which may have been an unintended and unlucky consequence of his previous work), and he turned around having just reached home and returned to sort the problem out, by now in the late evening. He talks a lot, but he did the job!
