If you’re struggling with ADHD symptoms, including: difficulty with: completing repetitive, mundane tasks; motivation; and prioritizing goals…DO NOT INVEST IN EFFECTO!!!while the advertisement promises an individualized plan based on the “input” you give them, all you will receive is some basic “self-help” videos. Worse than this, though, is a DAILY CHECKLIST OF MUNDANE FACTS ABOUT YOUR DAY (e.g. hours slept, mood, foods eaten, etc.) which you are supposed to fill out on a daily basis in order to determine how these patterns affect your productivity. DUH!! This task itself is overwhelming for someone with ADHD, let alone analyzing it to come up with your OWN plan. I repeat, no individualized plan is provided for you, as advertised. I wound up contracting with a psychologist specializing in helping people be more effective with activities of daily living in an individualized manner that is really helping me. Thankfully, I “cancelled” my 3 month subscription the day after I joined, so I will hopefully not face the unwanted refilling that other users are dealing with. Effecto is a sham playing on the vulnerabilities of those of us desperate for help in organizing our lives.

Edit: I urge everyone to contract PayPal to make PayPal cancel the PayPal account of these fraudsters because the only reason this many people are falling for this scam is because they're seeing a PayPal button and automatically assume that effecto is trustworthy which couldn't be further from the truth.

They're effectively destroying PayPals trust by abusing their name to exploit customers preexisting trust in PayPal to make their scam operation possible in the first place.

Edit 2: Also note that on Trustpilot it says that their location is United States but on their own website it says Lithuania (I've looked up the place on Google maps it's a shell company these scammers are likely sitting somewhere else like in India or Africa)

They also never send any invoices and there's no mentions of "effecto" on the charge so that people don't have a clue where the charge cames from months after

I am really angry. I got this app in August last year. A month later they charged me again 38€. Fine, But at this time I told them I didn't want to continue with the subscription. They told me they stopped it and not further payment will be taken from the account. LIERS. 5 months later they have taken another payment and this time of 211€!!! I can't find the cancellation emails as 5 months have passed! Their answer is exactly the same as previously and NO REFUND when I already cancel. It doesn't make sense anyway that they would take that amount of money and period of time. BE CAREFUL! Don't know what else to do to get my money back...

UPDATE: They have refunded the money but not sure if it was because of the email I sent them after this review or because Paypal intefered.

Difficult Cancellation Process

I signed up for a one-month plan and attempted to cancel soon after. However, I found no option for cancellation in the app or on the platform. It became clear later that I needed to reach out to the support team via email, which is quite unusual for an app subscription and easy to overlook. The subscription automatically renewed at a higher rate, and my request for a refund was denied, despite my prompt contact with support after the charge. This cancellation process is complicated and not user-friendly. I would not recommend this service.

Strikingly Similar Onboarding Experience Raises Concerns

Interestingly, I recently experienced the same onboarding process (without making a purchase) for another service. The process and platform were IDENTICAL, even to the exact pricing for the same three subscription options! This is a clear indication of potential issues. I’ll pass.

Difficult to locate cancellation options

It was extremely challenging to find a way to cancel my subscription. I never used the service and was unaware that I was being charged since May 2025. I admit I should have monitored my credit card more carefully, but it's outrageous that I was being billed without my knowledge. I spent my entire morning searching for a cancellation method. Additionally, there's an option to delete your account, but it includes a small disclaimer stating, 'this will not cancel your subscription.'

I’m still figuring things out since I just received it. However, I’m already disappointed by the unexpected extra charges for workbooks and similar items. It’s frustrating when the advertised price doesn’t cover much.

Understanding My Struggles

I struggled to understand why I couldn't get my life together. After being prescribed antidepressants, I felt even worse. The insights in this video resonated deeply with me. I realize now that I'm not to blame, nor am I crazy. I have a genuine issue! The knowledge that I can focus on self-improvement and regain control fills me with optimism. I'm committed to my plan and excited about reclaiming my life!
