The only word I can say about EssayGrader is "excellent!" Its AI grading capabilities are excellent. Once the rubric is dialed in, EssayGrader will score essays very close to what I would score them. Usually with in only a few point difference. It also does a great job at detecting errors and offering suggestions oh how students can improve their right and all this based on the rubric I can create. This offers great flexibility for me as a teacher whether it is short answers, one day quick write essays, or major research papers. And the Google Classroom integration is excellent, seamless, and intuitive. This, along with its excellent grading capabilities saves me hours upon hours of time. EssayGrader is Excellent.

I like how EssayGrader provides detailed writing feedback that can be forwarded to students. It is important to read through what it writes and verify that it’s what you want to say (sometimes it makes mistakes), but overall it’s great to have a grading assistant. One feature I would like to see would be the ability to type in numbers rather than sliding the scale. I like how it is connected with Google Classroom.
I appreciate the depth of feedback provided on each essay. Not only are mistakes flagged, but so are things that are done particularly well. Suggestions for improvement are spot-on. I also like the fact that I can send feedback reports to the students with or without the score. This allows me some wiggle-room in grades, as I deem acceptable. The only issue I have run into is the fact that in-text citations are sometimes flagged as being done incorrectly when they are, indeed, correct. This is despite my specifying in the rubric that they should be formatted accord MLA guidelines. Overall, this has been a terrific timesaver. I still read my students’ work and know where and how they are progressing, but the feedback they receive is more than what is humanly possible.
This was so easy to use. I appreciated the breakdown of AI usage and the consistency in grading. I was even able to upload my own rubrics for grading. It helped my students learn and adjust their essays with quick feedback. I recommend this to anyone thinking about it. Customer service was great, too. Quick responses and so helpful!
