The person taking our credit card over the phone spoke clearly and was very polite. After that I got multiple calls from someone who mumbled and talked very quietly. All I heard clearly was “we should have your data in a couple of days”. Well, it has been a few weeks and I finally got, “we tried twice and couldn’t get anything”
The web site says No data, No fee, but because my drive went to stage 3, I’m out $1200?
I was lead to believe that they wouldn’t go forward if they didn’t think that they could recover the data, but in the end I was accused of dropping the device and severely damaging the internal components.
Used their service through the Account Manager. He was quick to take payment and afterwards refused to answer emails or phone calls. I was promised 1-2 days to have my data sent to me, however that never happened.
I got help, a week later from another employee who sent me my data through Dropbox and finally a flash drive 2 weeks later.
I do not recommend this company (Hamilton) office. as there are others that can provide the same service, without ignoring their customers after a large payment.
Despite the high ratings on various platforms, I cannot recommend this service to anyone. The costs were EXTREMELY high (the recovery fee was nearly a tenth of my yearly income, which is limited as a student), and the attempt was ultimately unsuccessful. Throughout the process, I felt like I was shuffled between different representatives. It seemed like I received calls from a new person every other day. After the initial conversation where I was told that a significant payment was necessary for the repair, I was assured of their success based on the condition of my device, but no one could provide updates until the final call, which informed me of their failure. When I requested my device to be returned along with a report detailing what was done and what went wrong, I was informed that the engineers were not accustomed to communicating with non-technical people. I never received a written report. Instead, my device was returned unsealed (the bottom was completely open and not fitting), it had a different top, and there was a new noise that wasn't present before. Additionally, despite my repeated emphasis on the importance of this drive, it was sent via regular mail, and I only received a tracking number after specifically asking for it. In summary, I am now looking for a competent professional service to see if there is any hope for recovery after the mishandling by this company.
Fields Data Recovery succeeded to recover all 6.3TB of data from a failed disk that required a head-swap, which is an extremely delicate operation that can only be performed successfully by experts in a high-tech facility, and with specialized equipment. The service wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. In this case it was for professionalism and technical excellence.
My treatment by Fields Data Recovery was scandalous. They quoted me £695+VAT to attempt a recovery with no guarantee of success. If it was successful they would charge me an additional £195 to backup the data and dispatch it, even though I sent a brand new identical hard drive to copy the data onto. When I politely declined the offer and asked for my hard drive back they were rude. When I offered to pay the £18 to return the item they provided me with an unsecure link to enter my bank card details. When I offered to pay by BACS they refused. We eventually agreed on a PayPal link that was so dodgy I had to lodge a concern with PayPal in case someone tried to fraudulently access my account. When my hard drive finally arrived back it was incomplete. Literally just the inside of the hard drive with the motherboard exposed, written on with a sticker from another company stuck across the circuitry. No cover, none of the auxiliaries required to connect it with USB. When I took the remnants of my hard drive to Curry’s to see what they could do, they told me they would likely have to source some of these parts from an identical model before they could attempt to recover my data.Fields Data Recovery therefore sabotaged my hard drive when I wouldn’t pay their exorbitant rates for their no guarantees recovery. You have been warned. I only hope you are reading this before you send them your hard drive. I only wish I took the time to read the other bad reviews about this company before I did.
I have an old SCSI drive that spins up very reliably but I couldn't get my data off of it. When connected to my SCSI card it was recognized. I sent it to Fields Data recovery and they told me they couldn't get data from it. They sent it back to me and it did have another board on it. But the reason I am suspicious is that the drive returned is totally dead. doesn't spin up and my card doesn't recognize it anymore. I was told I would get a report on the work that was done but have yet to receive it.
I appreciate your having got it done. The one thing that could have been better was that it was shipped to a wrong address. The FedEx driver called me from an address about 7 miles away. It may have been wrongly selected by your shipping people, it has happened before. My GPS will give both addresses when I am searching for a best route home from out of town. But thanks.
The team at Fields Data Recovery located in Florida were absolute professionals. They did an Excellent job recovering all of my files on a 12TB Seagate Drive. It was a pricey undertaking, however, I got all my data back which is priceless. Great Job to the team and company for a job well done!
I'm very happy I was able to recover the data i had lost. Especially from an M.2 based drive! I was thinking that database was lost forever, but they brought it back!... even if that meant putting it into a flash drive tho... that's really my only reason for one less star, I had requested a hard drive but got a flash drive with the data in it. So what would've taken me a day to get my data moved over into my backup server took me three entire days. Again, it's already finished, so I'm not as mindful about it as I was before. Amazing service, I'm thinking about using them again.
