Frustrating Lack of Response from Local Authority

I raised a recurring issue with the local authority informally via email in October 2025, after being assured it wouldn't happen again. A senior representative mentioned needing to consult with colleagues, but then there was a prolonged silence, despite my follow-ups. On December 8, 2025, with no response, I escalated the matter by submitting an official complaint letter outlining two specific ongoing issues. I requested a reply, but as of January 20, 2026, there has been no acknowledgment or response to my complaint. This lack of professionalism from the local authority is disappointing, especially given the evidence and prior communications I've provided. The matter has now been escalated further.

No Progress on Demolition Work

Following up on my earlier comment, the service has made no progress regarding the demolition at the town center. It's been nearly 2.5 months since they started, and all they have done is cordon off the area. Not a single task has been completed! It’s frustrating to see them get paid while doing nothing. This situation is unacceptable, and it's disheartening that no one seems to be addressing it.

Ineffective Automated Service

When I attempted to book a bulky uplift service today, I was informed that no bookings were available. I asked a neighbor with a slightly different postcode to try, and they were given a collection date for the next day. I contacted the local authority, but their automated assistant has proven to be ineffective and unhelpful, despite the cost to taxpayers. It's time to prioritize real customer service over automated systems.

Neglect of Public Spaces

There seems to be a lack of action; the pavements and roads are full of potholes, and there aren't enough bins, leading to littering. Dog mess is becoming a serious issue, and overgrown hedges are causing safety hazards. I've had personal experiences with these problems, including injuries. It’s frustrating that despite polite requests to homeowners to maintain their hedges, nothing changes. This neglect affects everyone, especially those with mobility challenges.

Council Ignoring Community Needs

The local authority does not seem to listen to the community, whether it’s regarding public transport or care services. One paper collection a month for sheltered housing is insufficient. Their approach seems misinformed and unhelpful.

Lack of Support for Vulnerable Individuals

Currently residing in a nursing home, I am paying a significant amount each month and have been given an appointment for an ultrasound test. My request for patient transport was denied, and I now have to cover taxi costs myself. Additionally, I need a carer to accompany me due to my health issues, which adds to my expenses. Thank you for your lack of support.
