Flickr Pro in my opinion is a wonderful…

Flickr Pro in my opinion is a wonderful site to showcase my professional photos and be seen around the world by adding images to groups. My following has grown fairly well in 3 years. My college teacher recommended it for his students to add photos for his course in a group (members in this specific group are only classmates) which was a great idea. The pro member account is not expensive and it has great analytics for this to help you rate your own work and see which photos excel and why. Many of the world's best photographers are on this site. Those few complaining in reviews need to remember only to post their best work (not everything) and use the site properly as recommended to see results. Highly recommended for the free or pro account. Send links of your own work (copy the line from top address bar) to clients to use it as a portfolio showcase. People have to remember to do their own marketing to sell their work and have their photos on multiple sites, and Flickr Pro is one of the best to choose. Have your photos on Flickr and also your website also is recommended for success.

Not for Business Or Deadline Scenarios

Made the mistake of thinking Flickr might be a cheap option for a commercial web site. Bought in just before going on vacation and unloading a truck of inventory. On my return I had to spend 7 days and over 100 hours unpacking, organizing and doing a big spread sheet on damage and missing inventory. The warehouse demands pictures of each damaged piece so I thought it would be convenient to insert hyperlinks into my Libre Office Spread Sheet to photos at the damage file when I load it into Flickr. What a nightmare! I kept getting "timed out" messages and files simply would not upload. Then I would be prompted to delete the offending files so the others would upload. Then the group file would fail to upload again because one or a group "timed out." What's with this timed out nonsense? So I deleted my account. Flickr may be good for casual users that can wait around all day. Now I have to burn the pictures on disc and do a mail report because I don't have time to research a picture host that doesn't suck with upload problems. Unusual since I did a preliminary load of 56 files without a hitch to test the service. I thought I had this part of my master plan mapped out for my new start-up before I went on vacation. But I don't have time for the site to straighten itself out. And I can't have a service that only works some of the time. Especially when I'm filing a claim. This isn't a casual thing where I'm uploading vacation photos of the kids and there's no deadline to get it done. For that, I'm sure Flickr is great. I see the reviews and many people like it. But for business? Absolutely not.

Scam?

This company has charged me $100/year for the PRO version. Since Feb 2020, Flickr "engineers" have been unable to resolve the multiple technical issues with their website, rendering the PRO version useless. In April 2020, Flickr promised a refund for services not provided, yet they continue to charge my credit card the yearly $100. As of September 2021, Flickr has not issued a refund. I have tried to contact Flickr several times since Feb 2021 and Flickr has not made any attempt to contact me since. My credit card company was unable to make contact with Flickr as well and I had to obtain a new credit card number in order for Flickr to cease these fraudulent charges. I am writing this review as a warning for others.

Getting worse and more expensive every day !!

Joined in 2007 and it regressed over time and I am actively looking for a better option. It has become too expensive and too non-competitive. Don't waste your money !!

Completely unprofessional, don't waste your time and money.

Completely unprofessional. I accidentally uploaded some inappropriate pictures while backing up my phone. I simply overlooked this but Flickr deleted my account without any warning. I lost thousands of pictures of my travels and of family. They won't at the very least restore my account so that I can retrieve my valuable pics. Years of pictures of my travels and my nieces and nephews gone just like that. I guess they need to punish me for simply not unchecking a file on phone.

Locking people out of accounts

For some reason in recent years & months, flickr has locked out many users & forcing them change their passwords without access to their yahoo email accounts which is your only link to your flickr account. A puzzling business model. Flickr use to be awesome. They seem to be very intrusive lately. One friend was locked out for a year & half and when he questioned the flickr staff via email because you can't talk to anyone, They cited account security which is puzzling since I do my banking online & manage my credit cards online as well. The banks & credit card companies have never done this practice. What the hell!?!? Something else is going on that they are not being honest about. Poor business model for a site that use to be awesome.

I use this website now to share some of my photos. I think It is a good website but recently very few activities at there and I think if they had a system for evaluating photos that would be better. I mean if others or some professional photographers could evaluate your work by numbers for example that was helpful to know if your work Is good.

Flickr sucks!

Since going through latest change of ownership/management it has gone from good to awful. I'm a paying Pro subscriber. Recently, I wanted to change my email address associated with my account, so I hit the "change email address" link in my settings. Flickr support demanded that I send them account and credit card info to prove my ownership of account. Really dumb ____ Looking for a good substitute that will allow seamless migration. Any suggestions?
