Update - I have a reply from the company at long last! (It took leaving a one star review here to get a reply!….so you know what you need to do if you don’t get replies to your emails or you also find it impossible to get through on the premium rate phone number….like I did over a dozen times)
The company have the brass neck to claim they have tried to contact ME to make a payment….the opposite is actually true. I managed to finally pay the £2xx I owed this company having finally obtained their bank details….but that was remarkably tough to do.
My heartfelt advice to read up on is his company on the various review sites and then decide for yourself. I suggest to head to their Google reviews next!….its a suspicious miracle that they have a 4 star rating on here and an understandable 1 star rating on Google.

Be very careful choosing this business to provide a fuel card solution. It is through pure frustration that I need to warn other small businesses that The Fuelcard Company are virtually impossible to contact and square up an account with.
I assure you I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I’ve tried in excess of a dozen times to call and speak to the payments team to square up an account.
The use a very unpleasant policy of offering a premium rate phone number for you to call in and attempt to pay your account. In all the times I’ve called, the phone rings and rings and rings and after an extended time of holding….the phone just goes dead.
I tried a new strategy, I called into ‘new business’ and politely asked a member of the sales team to put me through (note this is a non-premium phone number)….again the phone rings and rings and rings, then it goes dead again.
On one occasion i was lucky enough to get through to a super helpful chap in sales and he was aware of just how difficult it is to get through to a hr collections team and he kindly offered to stay on the phone with me….he even said he emailed or messaged the team saying I was desperate to get through and pay. But no…..despite all that his extra assistance, the call still didn’t get through and was disconnected.
I was sent endless replies to emails asking/pleading for someone to call and take my payment. Absolutely zero reply…nothing!
The final kick in the teeth is now I have an annoying collection company using the threat of court action and have doubled the amount owed!….so £2xx I’m trying to pay is £4xx. It’s a total farce and causing a real pain and I’m totally fed up with spending so much valuable time trying to deal with this company.
I hope this reviews are read by people who make policy and see what the real customer experience is. The concept of a fuel card is great and the user experience of dealing with the helpful sales team is very positive…..BUT, if you need to try and pay a bill and need to contact anyone other than sales, you will be totally frustrated and the friendly sales team members I dealt with, are totally aware just how bad the collection team is.
It’s a genuine shame you have to use feeedback site to be seen and heard, but in the case of The Fuelcard Company, they need to treat their customers better and not make it virtually impossible to contact them. In an era of remarkable technology, it’s unbelievable a business can make itself so difficult to contact and pay.
I will close my account as soon as I have finally manage to pay, I have had a torrid experience of annoyance and incompetence from a large organisation that really should know better.
Please factor this in when you are choosing a fuel card partner, I know I’m not the only business owner that struggles with this issue and I’m now receiving threatening letters to be taken to court because this outfit can’t take a payment due to never picking up the phone or answering an email.
Just beware.
Recently switched over to The Fuelcard Company in November last year. Have been dealing with Helen who is fantastic, a small problem came up and she sorted it quickly. She’s very polite and professional and the company seems very impressive so far.
I have been dealing with Helen Duncan at the Fuelcard company and I would thoroughly recommend Helen the whole process has been very easy and hassle free she has been checking in with me to make sure everything is running smoothly
DONT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE TERRIBLE.I have been with them since April 2025 and I September they started charging me £9.99 for a paper invoice. When I questioned they just said we will get my account manager to call me back. 10 phone calls later he hasn’t called me back.The poor girls in customer service have taken all the brunt because he won’t call me back.They owe me over £100 a the say they will look into it but again they never call me back.I spoke to lady today and asked to hear my recorded phone call on when i agreed to pay £9.99 for a paper invoice and she said we won’t be able to do this.Since then i have reported the company to bbc watchdog and they are going to contact me soon.If you look on Facebook 1000s of people have had the same issue.DONT USE THIS COMPANY
Warning to anyone using The Fuelcard Company (Uk) LtdGet you on board send out marketing opt out emails which most people just delete as to busy and keep adding charges to your account.THEY ARE A SCAMMING COMPANY AND YOU DONT GET TO SPEAK TO TEH SAME PERSON TWICE. MUCH BETTER MORE HONERABLE PEOPEL TO DEAL WITH.
Quite simply the worst fuel card company you will deal apply charges to your account which apparantly are communicated via e-mail which you have to reply to to cancel these Then refuse to refund these chargesDo yourself a favour & look for other company fuel providers
