I received an invitation from a company to write a review in exchange for a $25 gift card. I dedicated significant time to crafting a detailed review, and it was approved. However, there was no mention of the promised gift card. Customer support claimed my review wasn't based on a genuine experience, despite the approval. I never received a single proper answer. Update: I reached out to support to resolve the issues and they either ignored me or sent me a scripted response. --------They use incentives to lure you in to leaving reviews and then don't follow through on the promise. Customer service is unresponsive. As a registered user you are unable to delete your own reviews. The process for leaving a review is complicated and time-consuming.
I asked Chat GPT how my company could be higher up in a search, and one of the sources it listed for improving was "get high ranking reviews on G2." I had never heard of this site before, but thought I'd give it a try. First, it looks like it's not legit to me. Something about the styling, the old look of the website, the lay out, the content...just altogether makes it feel like a scammy site to me. I went ahead any way to see if next steps created any concern for me. Second, I created an account and they asked for a verification process. I was unable to verify myself using the email and link they sent. I don't know why. I reached out for help and received no response. I then received reminder emails to verify my account, and responded asking for help, but they were "no reply" emails. I reached out for help via their website contact and received no response. After about a month, I decided I would try again, and this time I used a more general email for my business instead of my personal email and created a new account. Same problem. I could not verify the account and I could not get help. It seems that they really want something else, and I don't know what that is. Given how scammy the site looks, I'm not willing to keep trying. Hopefully AI searches will stop using this site for authoritative information about businesses. G2's competitors are very easy to work with and seem more legitimate in every way.
My experience with G2’s review process has been extremely disappointing. Even after providing detailed explanations, describing my usage clearly, and even submitting proof such as company login screenshots, they still kept asking for “more clarification” without telling me which specific part needed improvement. Despite giving every piece of information requested, they continue to reject the review and repeatedly ask to “elaborate more,” without any guidance on what to fix. This makes the process frustrating, unclear, and unnecessarily difficult. If G2 expects highly detailed reviews, they should at least communicate the exact areas that require updates so users can correct them properly.
