Review Time
I really want to like this printer. We have 2 GM3D500 Printers at my school. They arrived in the March of 2016. For the 32 Months they have been our possession, one or both printers have been inoperable for 12 months. We are a school and this inoperable time does not include the summers. We have issues with the hardware that feeds the filament to the extruder and hot end, one of the power supplies died, the BL Touch fell off, and one of the power switches broke. During the downtime for the printers, I have contacted the customer service for Gorillamaker. They are great to talk to, and when I have gotten replies the problems are commonly solved. However, those replies and help sessions have taken long periods of time. Sometimes my e-mails or phone calls have gone unanswered for weeks while the printers have remained unused due to issues. I am always willing to admit some user error, but the lack of documentation included with these printers to solve some of the common issues is a problem coupled with the instructional videos from the website for the newer model of printer than the ones we own means I can't find the help on my own. I really want to like this printer model. I think the company does good work, and I hope the newer model of printers can better serve a school. However, I cannot say this experience has been positive for my school.
