I did a booking online, but I was not able to receive the car at the airport (San Francisco, CA.). Everything was cancelled. I called GotRentalCars.com for a refund and they refuse to give me my money back. They hang up on me. They don't take my calls. This is the most unprofessional business I've ever dealt with in my life. DO NOT USE THEM.
I feel the need to share my experience with the very unsatisfactory service and lack of responsibility from the company. I booked a vehicle for a wedding in London (Dec 2025). Despite reaching out multiple times to confirm everything, I arrived to find the booking instructions were entirely wrong. - No shuttle as promised. I had to carry my luggage over 1km through mud and grass along a busy road to get to the office. - My pickup was set for 13:00, exactly when the office closes, leaving me without options. - The support team was initially unhelpful. I had to book a new vehicle through another service at the last minute, costing me an extra £166.27 and resulting in a 5-hour wait at the airport! - While they eventually refunded the original booking (in two confusing transactions), they have completely ignored my formal complaint about compensation for the price difference. I have received no apology, no acknowledgment of their error, and no response to my emails for weeks. Refunding for a service you failed to provide is not just a courtesy; it's a legal obligation—it certainly isn’t a solution. I am still out of pocket by £166.27 due to their misleading information and negligence. I would not wish this dreadful experience on anyone.
