I was very pleased with my experience…

I was very pleased with my experience and found the staff most friendly, helpful and professional. I initially went into the store with the intention of buying a particular product for a particular task. I had been told online that the product was available at any Haymes store . This was not the case but found the alternative option to be a good one. The advice I was given was most useful and knowledgeable.

Great Paint by Staff's Lack of Knowledge Very Disappointing

I love using Haymes Paint however I have been extremely disappointed with the lack of knowledge at one of the Haymes stores. I asked for advice on what to use for external weatherboards. I was told Solarshield Exterior was the best product. Firstly, one of the team members could not calculate how many 15 litre containers I needed - at one point he suggested 20!!! It's a 10m x 16m weather board house!! I would need a truck to cart around 20 x 15 litres of paint and would be able to paint 5 houses. Secondly, at the counter, I then asked another staff member if I should go Matt or Low Sheen and was advised Matt. The paint was quite thick so after painting half a wall I checked to see how I could slightly thin it. This is when I read that Matt is NOT TO BE USED for Weatherboards. Given I could have painted the whole house in the wrong paint I was extremely upset. The only person who stepped up and fixed this disaster was Jan from your head office. Jan was AMAZING and given her knowledge should be training all of your store staff. One of your sales people was meant to follow up and call me - I'm still waiting. How can you have people selling paint who don't know 1.) how to calculate how much paint is needed based on size and 2.) have no knowledge as to what they are selling? This is a massive failure in your training and undermines the reputation of your brand as 'experts' in paint.
