I always found the opportunity to express my thoughts and feelings, whether venting or discussing things from an outside perspective. This environment helped me confront difficult truths that friends or family might not share. The conversations were approached without judgment, which significantly contributed to my self-awareness. This experience was invaluable in coping with a breakup after many years, guiding me to understand how to move forward and gain confidence in seeking new relationships. I feel like I'm in a great place now, but if needed, I would definitely return and recommend this to others as well! Thanks to the community and the support team!
Coaching is amazing. Before going to coaching I thought that I would just never be able to do some of the things that I wanted out of life. My coach showed me that with constant progress and focusing on your goals in the right way, you can do it. I was able to fly on a plane even though I had accepted that I would just always be terrified and flying isn't for me. But I did it! I flew and I was even rather calm. There is so much other things that I also wouldn't have been able to do on my own. I recommend it to everyone!
My coach has been helpful and the support team was also very accommodating. I had accidentally missed my first session with my coach. It was my mistake as I had misremembered the meet I was supposed to meet with my coach. Either way, I talked to both my coach and Siv from customer support. After some time they had actually allowed for my first missed session to be marked as a skip which meant I wouldn't miss out completely on the session I paid for which I really appreciated. My coach has also really listened to me when I dump all my thoughts and things that happened throughout the week on her and it has definitely helped! Overall, would recommend the program! You definitely have to put as much effort as you can into it if you want to make progress though. Even with that being said, if you discuss with your coach about anything you feel might be lacking in the sessions they should be able to accommodate as long as it's in their control to do so. As well as recommend different sources that can help. 👍
Even as a big fan of Dr K’s channel, I can’t in good conscience recommend this service, specially at this price point. Your first week or two is actually going to be decent quality, since the resources (such as worksheets) come from Dr K himself. After you’re locked in, you might get stuck with reading chapters off a For Dummies book or generic advice that isn’t worth the price tag. I also have to echo what other people have said about coaches generally not being satisfied with the company, since the reason mine specifically cited for not being available outside of coaching hours is the fact that they don’t get paid enough for that. To offer a comparison, online courses I’ve taken at similar price points meet for much longer and also offer allotted time to help outside of meeting hours. I don’t know how those places make it work, maybe it’s the fact that they’re bigger companies, but the difference in quality is staggering and I’m looking at this from the consumer point of view. It does seem like I got unlucky with my coach, but the company isn’t guilt-free here. I do think they’re out to profit first and foremost which is okay, I just wish I got my money’s worth. I do hope this helps someone who would be making a sacrifice paying for this.
I already moved into coaching with a good chunk of knowledge (5 years of therapy) and one year of challenging experiences, giving me the opportunity to translate my gathered knowledge into the practical world. Coaching helped me with finding a way to combine these two worlds (theoretical and practical) in a more proactive sense while accelerating the bit of growth I feel I needed before putting me into a place at which I felt comfortable with trying to navigate life without mental health support for the first time since I'm a grown-up.
Coaching has changed a lot of my perspectives as well as helped me deal with my problems that I struggled with a lot. From goal setting to emotional support, coaching helped me find a lot more purpose and have more motivation than when I started. Having someone be there to help you out while you're working on yourself will make the work you're putting on 10x easier and effective
I enrolled in the Healthy Gamer Institute on June 5th. The start date for the program was July 7th, and I signed an agreement that I thought gave me a 100% refund up until a week before the start date. I enrolled as soon as I could, partially out of fear of missing out (FOMO). So, the refund policy helped my peace of mind. After pondering it for a week. I decided this was not the best time for me to enroll in this program, and on June 13th, I requested a refund. They told me that I was only eligible for a refund within 48 hours of signing the agreement, and it had to couldn't be within a week of the start date. The wording in the agreement was misleading and, I feel, purposefully confusing, as I am not someone who reads a lot of legal documents. They told me I was only eligible for a 75% refund AND they take an additional $250 out of the remaining balance for "admin fees," which alone is absurd. So, even though we were 3 weeks away from the actual start date and I requested the refund within 8 days of enrollment, I was only able to get a 75% refund (minus their absurd admin fee). Which means, I lost close to $1400 for them to hold my money for a week. This is the worst client agreement I have ever enrolled in. For context, I used to have Comcast and just bought the Switch 2. It is the most anti-consumer refund policy I have ever seen. This SEVERELY tarnishes Dr. K's reputation, and I have been sure to tell my colleagues of nerdy coaches about this predatory agreement. Definitely buyer beware, as it seems like Healthy Gamer is no longer about helping gamers; they are solely about their bottom line. Which is a huge shame because Dr. K used to be a huge inspiration to me when I started my own business.
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with HealthyGamer, but especially my coach Sonia (or as I like to call her, my “Goach” Greatest Coach of All Time). From day one, she’s been supportive, patient, and incredibly skilled at helping me reframe my mindset and build healthy habits in a way that actually sticks.Sonia doesn’t just check boxes she genuinely listens, helps me get to the root of what’s holding me back, and always makes me feel like I’m capable of more than I thought. She balances accountability with compassion in a way that feels motivating, not pressured. The progress I’ve made in just a short time is proof of her dedication and expertise. I’m grateful to HG for connecting me with such an awesome coach. If you’re on the fence about coaching do it. You might just meet your own “Goach” too. 🙏
