My first HelloFresh delivery was great — arrived on time, good quality ingredients, no issues.

Everything after that was an absolute mess.

I signed up under a promotion that clearly advertised eight “free items.” When those weren’t applied to my second order, customer service told me I was mistaken and that it was only one free item (which I’d already received). I had to send screenshots of their own promotional email to prove what had been advertised to me. How does a company not even know what offers they’re sending to customers? I was told someone would follow up — they never did.

Despite that, I gave them another chance and placed a second order. It never arrived. Apparently someone managed to contact HelloFresh pretending to be me and changed my delivery address to Queensland — a state I have never lived in or even visited. That raises serious concerns about their security and verification processes.

Customer support during this was chaotic. I had to repeatedly confirm my Victorian address over and over as if it was difficult to understand that I do not live in QLD. I was promised a refund and a $10 “goodwill” voucher. I received neither.

What I *have* received are repeated emails and SMS messages demanding over $90 for a box that was never delivered to me.

So somehow HelloFresh:
• Allowed an unauthorised address change
• Delivered a box elsewhere
• Failed to process payment correctly
• Then decided I owe money for a delivery I never received

To top it off, my account was then shown as cancelled without my request.

The entire experience has been disorganised, poorly managed, and incredibly frustrating. I will never use HelloFresh again and would not recommend them based on how this was handled.

Always delivered on time and left at the door with ice packs to keep it cold. The meals are are fresh and delicious with plenty of variety to choose from. My son even cooks the recipes he likes. I live in a small country town so choices are limited without hello fresh. Good prices and less wastage.

Absolutely enjoying the meal service!

Absolutely enjoying the meal service! The ingredients are consistently fresh and of high quality. The portions are ample. Deliveries arrive right on schedule. The best part is not having to plan meals or do grocery shopping, avoiding the purchase of large quantities of items that go unused. This means no waste and no spoilage. The recipes are straightforward and perfectly timed for serving. It was particularly helpful during my weeks of treatment when I had little time or energy to focus on dinner preparation.

Steer clear of this provider.

Steer clear of this provider. The beef is consistently extremely tough, to the point where even a dog refuses to eat it. The chicken seems old and probably comes from a frozen source. The lamb is of mediocre quality, at best B grade. It's better to go to a grocery store and purchase the best ingredients within your budget. You'll get much more food for a lower price. For recipes, just use the internet. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with this substandard service.

Consider your decision to reactivate with this service. Their quality has declined. I was a customer for years, including during the pandemic, but when I received a recent offer, I mistakenly thought it was just an ad. They began charging me without my consent and claimed to have delivered boxes, which I was unaware of. Customer support was unhelpful, merely repeating that the boxes were delivered and not acknowledging that I didn’t agree to reactivate. Be cautious with their offers and avoid linking your credit card, as they won’t notify you if you accidentally reactivate. After a lengthy call, they finally issued a refund for the undelivered box, but I still have to pay for an unauthorized order arriving soon. The customer service experience was quite frustrating and the reordering process feels misleading.

Be cautious if you’re thinking about reactivating with this service. Their level of service has changed a lot. I was a customer on and off for many years, including during the pandemic. Great food at a fair price

We have been enjoying this service for nearly 18 months. Deliveries arrive on time every week, and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful, changing regularly. The quality of the meat is excellent, and the portion sizes are more than sufficient. The rewards program is a nice bonus each week. I would highly recommend this service.

Great variety for a refreshing change

The meals for two that I've ordered over the past few months (though not every week) have generally been quite good. Some are really flavorful, some are average, but most I would rate around 7/10. A few of the vegetables don’t stay fresh until their use-by date, so I make sure to cook them soon after receiving my order.
