Review Time
Configuring my miniature on the website was truly enjoyable—full of intricate details, numerous options, and vibrant colors. After that experience, I decided to order the miniature in premium colors. However, upon receiving it today, I was shocked to find it resembled a melted candle; it was nothing like what I expected! As an experienced collector of similar miniatures, which tend to be costly yet well-crafted, I am deeply disappointed.
Creating custom minis was a dream for many in our international group. We took advantage of a sale and made our purchases. The mobile site had its issues. The slider indicating "unprintable" is hard to notice when selecting options, and if you miss it during the cart preview, you're stuck with items that are automatically modified for durability. After reaching out multiple times, the support team only suggested returning items if we were unhappy. It's frustrating that items marked as unprintable can be purchased without clear warnings. I'm involved in several ongoing campaigns and regularly run one-shots, but now everyone feels discouraged and plans to avoid future purchases.
Creating custom figures was a dream for many in our international group. We took advantage of a sale and made our purchases through the mobile site. Unfortunately, the slider indicating "unprintable" is hidden and only shows when you slide a choice into the red zone. If you miss it in the small preview before adding to your cart, you're stuck, as the items will automatically be thickened for durability. After several emails, the customer service only suggested, "if you don't like it, return it." If an item is marked unprintable, why can we purchase it without any warning? I'm involved in multiple campaigns and weekly one-shots, and everyone is now discouraged from buying again.
The miniatures appear impressive online, but the printed results are lacking. I wouldn't recommend using this service. I purchased two files, but neither printed correctly. One ended up being just a base without the character. Their policy states no returns on digital files, which is fine, but when the prints failed, I requested a refund for the digital file to be applied to a printed character, and they refused. I won't be using this service again.
I attempted to cancel my subscription on the renewal date, but it was renewed, and I was charged for another year. When I reached out, they offered a gift card instead of a refund. They mentioned I was too late based on their terms of service, but upon review, the time frame only applies to orders, not subscriptions. On a positive note, their response time was quick.
It seems they don't save your files after purchase. I recently discovered that at least one figure I created can't be downloaded again. The print quality is not up to par. I've seen what can be printed, so it's not the printer's fault, but rather the quality of their files.
On the physical products front: no STL downloads after printing — what a letdown. It costs them nothing to provide that. The priming was poor, with details on one model obscured by gray primer, ruining it. I'm very dissatisfied with that. The service is lacking — no updates on my order status unless I reached out. I waited over a month for three figures to arrive. Their website for building figures is good, but if you have access to a local 3D printer, consider that instead. I ordered one primed and two regular resin figures, and they weren't worth the cost.
The miniatures look decent, but if you're hoping for colors as vibrant as what you see in the design app, you'll be disappointed. They come out much paler and lack vibrancy. Hand-painted versions will look significantly better. That said, they still save you the hassle of painting them, but don't expect top-notch quality.
I'm shocked by the drop in quality. My group has ordered several minis in the past, all of which were great. Currently, I have six minis that show a significant decline in quality. Prices may have increased, but the new "budget" plastic minis are pricier and noticeably inferior. For an order of nearly $150, I'm very unhappy. I should have spent more to avoid the issues with artifacts and muddied details. I used to recommend this service, but now I suggest finding a mini that closely resembles your vision elsewhere. It will likely be cheaper and more detailed. Customer service was responsive and submitted a reprint request, but the new minis were almost identical in quality — still muddy and lacking detail. It's disappointing.
I've ordered from the service twice before, and this is my third time. I've only ordered the colored standees, which are detailed and of high quality. I highly recommend this option. My last order was returned due to a postal error — not the fault of the team — and they promptly reached out to verify address details. Their customer support is exceptional, very helpful and friendly! I can't recommend them enough.
