Have been with Oscar for two months and already had three customer service issues including spending an hour on the phone trying to resolve a technical glitch on Oscar's end that refused to send approval to a provider, a crazy phishing/malware spam email, and the inability to log in to my account to make a payment. Would not choose again and look forward to switching plans when it's possible.
Teledoc DOES NOT HAVE DOCTORS. Has nurse practitioners that cannot do anything to help. I had teledoc with Cigna amd they were great. I just got Oscar this year and will likely end up with pneumonia and they could care less because are not authorized to do anything besides tell you to go in, in person. If I felt well enough to go in - wouldn't need teledoc. Super annoyed already.

Once you are enrolled, things change. Took over month to get an ID card, had to order it several times. No welcome package ever arrived. Once enrolled and needing to pick your Primary Care Provider (PCP) doctor, the listing of docs is incorrect. Several doctors are listed as accepting new patients but at mulitple locations the doctors are not there nor have they been. Several docs in my area close to home were listed at a Rehab/Nursing home facility and several others listed at a Health Dept. and then at a Bariatric Weight loss place. Called all to verify and none of these places accept patients and the doctors are not part of their staff nor do they provide any type of primary care. Trying to call Oscar and speaking with an understandable English speaking person seems impossible. When requesting to speak with someone else, they disconnect you. Then they have docs that are just virtual docs, but they have no appointments. Employees on the phone through Oscar said they don't have Virtual PCP's while I am simultanously looking at the list on the my computer. This insurance is not what they promoted and I will be turning them in for insurance investigation. I can't pick a doctor that they are requiring within a few days, if you don't have them available. This is not that the doctors have left the plan, they were not ever part of the plan nor are the facilities that they are indicating. I believe this was false to make their list of doctors accepting new doctors look more inviting so you would feel as though you have a much larger selection. If you can't get care, then this is not insurance. I will also be seeking to get out of this plan but of course they waited to send ID card until after the January 15th deadline.
My previous gynecologist stopped taking Oscar, however website still shows him in Network. Needless to say, ALL other gynecologists that I have contacted, that show "in network" are NOT accepting Oscar. When I call, they are accepting patients...just not Oscar patients. My concern is that this will be the case with most doctors they show "in network."
This is the most bad insurance i ever dealt with the App is horrible it tells you to do a task an bd nothing happens an bd when to speak to some one for example this guy he talks so sluggish and slow like he’s on something when you ask a question he responds back late and customer service do not help you with the app it’s very bad
WASTE, FRAUD, ABUSE!Their In-Network Provider List is a work of fiction!I signed up for Oscar Health with The Affordable Care Act. I checked their provider list BEFORE signing up. All of the doctors I had been seeing, including my old primary care, were on their list. But after I got signed up, I started calling to get appointments but it turns out NONE of them accept it. I then called 8 other doctors on their list near me. You guessed it, not a single one of them actually takes Oscar. So I decided to go to an urgent care. First 4 of those I called do not take it, but at least the 5th one did, even though they were 22 miles away (in a metro area!). Got a referral for an orthopedist which I desperately need. And they have just ONE orthopedist in-network for the ENTIRE STATE OF FLORIDA! 18 million people and just one orthopedist. Who is 200 miles and 4 hours away from me.But they are collecting $1568 in federal Affordable Care Act subsidies.
I never expect much from insurance companies, especially health insurance companies…. Oscar has been BY FAR The Worst “health insurance coverage” I have ever had (01-01-2025 to 12-31-2025) Their website is impossible to navigate and full of incorrect or misleading information regarding coverage, providers, etc. Customer service is a joke, they quote one business day to respond and often take longer, when they do respond they don’t even answer your question, as if they aren’t taking anytime at all to read what you wrote. You will wait on hold for hours trying to speak with a human and half the time get hung up on mid conversation for no reason. They don’t cover some of the most basic medications. They wouldn’t even authorize one that I desperately need which is not only common but also the safest option for me with the least side effects, and my doctor advocated for me several times to try to get it approved but they absolutely refused. I spent hundreds of dollars on simple blood tests and lab work that I have never paid so much out of pocket for before. They would’t even cover follow up sonogram after an abnormal monogram. I spent several days learning about and comparing health plans before choosing and so it wasn’t like I blindly went in to it and randomly chose Oscar. I feel like I was bait and switched. I wish I could get the last year of my life back.
