I had a wonderful meal.. one of the best vegan burgers I’ve had. That being said, when paying the bill I asked about the freshness of the sauce as this was apparent it was fresh and the waiter said I don’t know about vegan food I see it as a disease. Im not one of those vegans to ever complain, but you should treat your paying customers with dignity and respect. The waiter was a male with broken front teeth with dark hair. I was about to leave a big tip until this moment… this waiter let the whole team down due to the bad customer service skills
Lovely Sunday lunch as always at our local pub. The manager is so friendly and always eager to ensure we have a great time. Top quality roast, excellent value and kids love the homemade pizza. Recommended as a fantastic pub in Guildford.
salard bar was tired food on the whole was lovely, once i got over been yelled and swore at by one staff member that asked me to move my car so she could get out because of a scaffold it was impossible for her to get her car out which was fine. As I had my grand daughter with me i left her in side so I needed to get back to her ASAP. well the girl decided carry on work leaving me outside waiting when my husband came in to tell her to come so i can get back to sitting and eating with my family she stated arguing and slammed door on her way out. throwing a wobbly saying she wont be told what to do. so after being mistreated by the staff. I didnt really feel like eating. This upset spoiled the meal for all of us which is sad as our waiter was lovely. horse and groom havester polegate east sussex.
Seems we were lucky, based upon previous reviews. We had pre-booked places and meals for 15 people, but 7 had to cancel due to Covid-pinging, so there were 8 of us. They were fine about this - all the food appeared on time and was well received - the venison being particularly good. No complaints - we were looked after. Service charge 10% added which was fine. Would return no problem.
Just been for lunch didnt realise no sandwiches on Saturday! The bill came to £87 for lunch for four of us...my elderly mum paid as she wanted to treat us and when putting the card in the machine it came up about a gratuity in which she declined and told the waitress she was leaving £5 on the table but the waitress failed to tell my mum that there was already £7.92 gratuity added to the bill.... so they ended up with a £12.92 tip! Not impressed at all and will definitely not be returning
Always enjoyed the Horse and Groom and always had a nice chat with the owner in the past. Blonde girl behind the bar very rude said she was the manager no customer service skills and realy letting the place down. One word answers to our questions and would not accommodate our needs. Really disappointment after good experiences in the past she definitely needs a lesson in hospitality a real shame.
When we walked in it was like the barman didn't want us there. He said we needed to be quick in placing our food order as they had 2 large parties coming in. Apart from that it didn't seem that busy. Anyway the gammon was very fatty so didn't enjoy the food much. Just did not feel welcome not going again.
Gets worse I complained and received a reply from the manager Gab...he or she said they were sorry about my visit to THE INN ON THE LAKE....it was Horse and Groom..someone wasn't really interested in my complaint..I emailed them back regarding their ridiculous mistake but they have not contacted me..basically not interested in complaints even when they get the name of their pub WRONG
