I would give zero stars. I asked for a refund as I didn’t like the taste or texture of the product. I have been ghosted by customer service!
Avoid this company! So many better products and customer services out there!
My review is slightly different and personal as I am writing about one of the customer advisors, Fern, not the product. I felt it important to share my experience.
I suffer from severe anxiety and depression and decided to use Huel to bulk up my daily calorie intake. Unfortunately whilst unscrewing the white cap, the inner foil came halfway off on 3 bottles I tried to open. Being where I am mentally, I couldn't drink them through worrying they might be contaminated. I contacted the customer service line and spoke to Fern. She was amazing and reassured me everything was ok and explained patiently and kindly that what had happened with the foil was normal. She then followed up our phone call with an email and offered to replace the Huels that I emptied away. Her kindness, patience and understanding was second to none and with her help I have moved on from this anxiety.

I love Huel. My son turned me onto this company. The products are not cheap. I’ve whittled down my order to just the protein bars. They are delicious. I can’t remember what it was that I didn’t particularly like, but whatever it was I don’t use it anymore. My son loves the protein drinks. I tried one of his, and the texture didn’t feel right to me. He suggested I give it another try because you get used to it. And you know you’re getting all the right nutrients, etc. So i probably will, but I am very happy with the protein bars.
HUEL powder is great, at first I didn’t enjoy the powdery feeling in my mouth then I started using an electric shaker to mix it and wow what a difference.
The hot meals, yum, but I haven’t tried the spicy ones because I don’t do spicy food,
I just love the vitamin drinks, a bit sweet at first, but it definitely gets rid of the sweet craving.
All in all what I’ve tried and tasted I love
I recently returned Huel after having not used it for several years. The first thing that struck me was that it was incredibly salty tasting compared to the Garden of Life meal replacement I have been using here in the US, to the point where I returned it to Huel, but I still had one open bag that I decided to go ahead and try to finish off and in the process of doing so I realized that I was getting used to the taste and once again started enjoying it again and now I've subscribed to it again (the black label, unflavored unsweetened version). It tides me over as it has in the past to replace one or two meals daily and I now really look forward to the taste of it. I mix it in a blender with soy milk. I trust the UK version more than I do anything made in the United States, particularly since the one I was using had been bought out by Nestlé, who I wouldn't trust as far as I could spit. The reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is the packaging continues to be problematic and I still have to transfer it from the bag it comes in to a different container that's easier to scoop out out of and also to keep closed. Huel's customer service folks are super and the shipping speed is awesome under UPS. All in all I'm glad to be back!
My experience started off rocky, but then the support team stepped in and resolved the issues for me, allowing me to enjoy the service much more. I was able to exchange my protein shakes that I didn't like for a super blend protein powder, which was slightly pricier than my original choice, but they were more than willing to assist with the replacement. I am completely satisfied and will definitely be making more purchases. The service was quick and efficient, showcasing outstanding customer support.
I began using a meal supplement based on a friend's suggestion, and I appreciate how it serves as a fairly complete meal replacement. I've enjoyed the shake mixes, energy drinks, and meal packets. While the meal packets are decent—neither exceptional nor terrible—I like their convenience and they keep me satisfied. My main aim was to incorporate this supplement into my diet alongside my treatment. After four months, I've lost 54 lbs, and this product has played a significant role in my success. I plan to continue using it even after I reach my goal. Paired with my regular meals, I feel fantastic. The customer service was also outstanding—very responsive and quick to address an issue I encountered. Initially, I wasn't keen on email-only support, as I prefer instant responses, but they handled my concerns promptly and effectively, surpassing many live support options. Overall, I've had a wonderful experience.
I find this product to be truly outstanding. It has a delightful taste, and the protein content is impressive per serving. The only aspect I would suggest improving is the texture; it could be a bit smoother. If that could be addressed, it would be an exceptional product.
Delivery met my expectations, and the packaging is tidy and appealing. I've been enjoying the black series for nearly two years and I absolutely love it. Convenient meals anywhere with a good amount of protein.
Initially, everything appeared promising. The pricing and philosophy behind the product were appealing. However, after trying it, I felt quite disappointed. I didn't feel satisfied at all and noticed little difference compared to skipping a meal. With 400 calories, the results were barely better than just drinking water. I can't shake the irony of possibly gaining weight from this. It might work for others, and I plan to give it another shot, but right now, I'm left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry.
