Went to Inamo in Covent Garden for a sushi and comedy night I'd purchased from Buyagift for my daughter's birthday. We were only allowed to choose six things,(3 each) from the interactive menu, which was extremely hard to use. It took us a good ten minutes to order what we wanted. All I can say is, six items for two hungry people was definitely not enough. The food came out sporadically. As we were eating, the waitresses kept cleaning up around us, making us feel like they just wanted us gone. My daughter's bao buns eventually arrived, but ten minutes later I had to ask where my chicken katsu bao buns were as they had forgotten them. It really felt like they were not organised at all. I can't count how many waitresses came up to ask us if we wanted any more food, or whether we were going to order anything else. The experience was hurried and felt like they just wanted us to leave. We'd only been in the restaurant not even an hour! When I eventually asked for the bill, I was horrified to have to pay £23.97 on top of what I'd already paid for the voucher. I thought the two apple juices we'd ordered would only come to £10, so when I saw that their Tech licence, and service charge were added, I couldn't believe it. The service was not good, and if I'd had the choice not to use the interactive board, then I wouldn't have. Their terms and conditions state that, "In order to offer cutting-edge dining experiences, we must include a small tech license on your bill to help continue to develop our interactive tables. To offset this we have lowered our service charge." How is charging £9.99 lowering the service charge? And what if you don't want to use the interactive tables? The night was an expensive waste of time and not what I had envisaged for my daughter's surprise. When I asked the waitress what the Tech licence fee was for, she had absolutely no idea and had to go away and ask.
I did email the restaurant in Covent Garden to let them know how disappointed I was, and I got a very apologetic, come patronising email back from Dan, but no offer of any compensation, or even some money off the next visit. That would've been a nice touch if it had happened. I would advise anyone going, to go with caution. A couple of apple juices ended up costing me £23.97! The comedy night was so bad, it was good! I will never be going again.
We have been to Inamo perhaps a dozen times since its inception in 2008. Until tonight, we were always delighted and entertained there. This time, we ordered 5 dishes, and they were all awful: just for instance, duck that was cold and dry, chicken that was tough and stringy, pork belly that was tasteless. Moreover, the prices were stupidly high and unwarranted given the quality. -- Even the digital interface on the table was terrible: it was fun in 2008, but with essentially no updates of interest, it's just an old and worn out idea.Such a shame. This used to be a fine place. Now it is just terrible.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !!! Cheap nasty terrible food with a stupidly high price .Expect better out of an uncle bens jar of sauce .The interactive table is old and doesent make things at all easy . It’s annoying .It’s crap .You will feel rushed and when complain you still have to pay a huge cost of over paid food .Don’t get scammed . I’m a decent guy business owner who hates to be ripped off my wife never complains and I’ve even seen her really unhappy and not complain - she complained . That’s how bad it was .Still gonna seek a full refund as I can’t rest
Was just okay, would not go back. we did the voucher but found that drinks were very expensive and the service charge was ridiculous. The cleanliness of the restaurant was also not great. some of the food was really nice but some was just okay. Can definitely get better sushi elsewhere for the same price. The screens were a bit frustrating to use and the music was very loud and the interior off putting. Just wanted to leave as soon as possible honestly! The staff were lovely and friendly though.
We have fantastic experience with family & friends at 'Inamo' nice quality food, and fabulous servings staff(Robins). I do recommend it for having a good family time and relaxing day, so Fantastic atmosphere as well. For all the staff... A massive thanks to 'Inamo House staff' 😄
It was such a disappointment. The table wasn't working so we had to move, one of the waiters spilt sauce over two of the diners and to top it off, there was a hair in the beef salad! At the end of it all, the manager brought the bill, with meals/drinks on it that we hadn't ordered, £100 service charge and a charge for the IT on the tables that didn't even work properly. To top it off (as if it hadn't been bad enough) he said he was going to call the police when we refused to pay the service charge. Complete joke! Avoid at all costs!
Had a fantastic time dining at Inamo Covent Garden. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — especially loved the sushi and Korean BBQ ribs!A big shoutout to Karki Sumitra for her warm hospitality and excellent service. She was attentive, kind, and made us feel very welcome. Her friendly smile truly added to the experience.Highly recommend for great food and amazing service. Will definitely be back!
Please do not believe to all the 5 star reviews as my table was offered a glass top up of a disgusting cheap wine (definitely not the one we were drinking) in exchange for the ALL of us being micromanaged by the staff to write a review and put a 5 star feedback for Food, Atmosphere and Service (literally having staff members looking at our phones).Right after the reviews were done, a member of the staff came five times to our table asking us to leave although the restaurant was empty. The food is average and overpriced, the fish does not taste that fresh, the interactive tables make the experience not elegant at all, minimal gluten free choices and micromanagement from the staff, including the very rude treatment we received after writing the fake 5 star reviews (of course, I have never published mine).Quite a contrast with all the nice choices in Covent Garden, I will not visit this place again.
Had visited today along with a friend as we were gifted vouchers for the Unlimited tapas via a 3rd party website. Upon being seated and looking through the menu, we noticed a lot of items from their online menu were missing, and that most meat options were charged extra. When challenging the waiter on this (as this is not listed on their website at all, even if you book directly through them or mentioned in their T&Cs pre purchase) the voucher menu was different from them main menu. Items such as the Wagyu parcels, bao buns, and ribs were missing.Upon asking for the manager, the waiter informed us the manager was not on site. Asking for someone more superior, we were informed the same gain. After multiple requests, someone more senior attended and informed us the 3rd party website used mentions the word “set menu”. Neither on the 3rd party website NOR the actual website is the contents of the set menu listed nor mentioned. Blatant attempt at hiding behind T&Cs which are not clear nor clarified at any point. The manager then stated “if you can show me where these items are included, we will offer it to you.” Extremely rude and condescending, considering both websites DO NOT mention any items nor what is offered in the set menu.In addition, the manager offered to refund the vouchers and offer the normal menu, which we declined as we did not want to spend money at this establishment. At this point we had ordered mostly vegetarian dishes from the menu, all of which tasted sub par and not very pleasant. After further discussion with the manager, we were able to obtain some ribs and wagyu parcels. When they arrived, both were not great dishes and lacked flavour. The wagyu parcels themselves were incredibly slimy and looked completely unappealing. The only things we enjoyed food wise were the Asian fries, kimchi fried rice, and the Korokke. Everything else, including service, were poor and extremely insulting.Highly recommend not eating here. You can find much better food at other Asian establishments across London for a fraction of what their normal menu charges. Will be messaging the business directly and obtaining a full refund for the vouchers. We ended up leaving before our meal was finished and refused to pay for any service fees or tech fees.TLDR: The vouchers are misleading and offer a set menu which is not mentioned on their website and T&Cs. Food is poor quality and their rebuttal seems accusatory of the customer once challenged on their practices.
