I found every presentation that I went to very enjoyable and valuable. I skipped 3 presentations over the course of the conference because I needed to, and it was easy to slip back in because they stayed right on schedule. The hotel and its food were top notch, and now I feel like I’m an expert in all things Costa Rica.
Jeff has a gift of being able to take complex financial info and distill it to a level of understanding for the lay person. His train analogy is fabulous.His recent Crypto Master Class was excellent. It was comprehensive (he didn't dumb it down) but easily accessible to the newbie.He provided actionable information and was generous with his time during the many Q&A sessions.He is a wealth of knowledge and relatable to the average person who wants to learn about Crypto.
I called their number 800-681-2402 to inquire about subscribing to IL magazine. I spoke with a John in a call canter in the Philippines. This call center person was brusque and rude. He sounded like he was blaming me for being unclear about my intent in calling. What a moron. Talk about discouraging a potential subscriber from subscribing. Please train your reps to be polite.
My 1st Living International event is in Portugal and I didn’t know what to expect. I am interested in learning details about moving overseas & was very pleased with the presentation topics- they are all generally fast-paced, brief presentations packed with a lot of good info. I like this format especially because there are several coffee break sessions where you can then speak directly with the presenter on more details about the topic of interest. Just like school, you get out of it what you put into it. Great way to network.
Pros: — Tight timing on presentations and staying on track— Great location — Helpful information— Great soundbite-size scheduling - kept us alert the whole time. — Incredible playlists during breaks— Delicious food and drinksCons:— No regard for health/covid consciousness. Would recommend daily announcements to remind us if you are sick or coughing due to congestion to please cover your mouth and/or wear a mask. Think of others. When I asked for this I was quickly told “NO - we won’t do this.” In this day and age, it is irresponsible to avoid these harsh realities and the last thing IL needs is a mini epidemic of attendees all coming down with covid, measles, or whatever. There was a gentleman in the back with a terrible cough, sneezing, running nose and constant open-mouth coughing without covering mouth. It will be a miracle if I don’t get sick. — No store on site - no ability to buy aspirin, or drinks and small snacks.Recommendation: Clearly the presenters must have submitted their power point presentations to IL for uniform design which is so cool and professional. Would highly recommend that the exhibitors also have a standard coordinated through IL where they must have some printed material focused on their recommendations, curriculum, etc. Some did, but many did not, leaving some room for disappointment since there is no way to keep the conversations straight in memory. Would recommend implementing a standard uniform protocol to follow for exhibitors to have printed material available - to reflect the same high standards as the presentations. Overall, a phenomenal job! Obrigada!
Lovely conference hotel in an amazing location. The speakers were very knowledgeable on their respective countries and what life is like in their country. The length of the conference was just about right. This was my first IL conference and I learned quite a bit about what I need to do to live overseas. It was eye opening. I also learned a lot about living in those countries highlighted and I narrowed my list to 3 countries I am seriously interested in. I WILL be attending next year's conference in Rome. If you are considering living overseas, this is a must attend event.
