Review Time
KimKim travel made our trip a success. From the transportation, hotels, excursions and guides everything was perfectly arranged and timed for us. We would definitely consider using KimKim again in the future.
Costa Rica Trip.
We began planning our trip in August. The communication between me and our planner was excellent. He considered our dreams and set up our trip. We tweaked several of the items and finalized on a Itinerary.
Because our flight back home was at 9am, we decided to add an additional day to the trip and stay at a hotel near the San Jose airport (with an airport shuttle). Since we didn't need to arrive in San Jose at a specific time and since the itinerary stated that (direct quote) "With private transfers, pick-up times are flexible, so you can set the departure time whenever you like" we requested a 5pm pickup and planned a private excursion for that afternoon.
We were then informed "5.00 pm is a bit late, especially because we do not recommend taking transfers in the evening hours, but let me double-check with operations." I let the planner know that we can cancel our excursion, but we needed to know. A few days later we were informed that our pickup time for the transfer back to San Jose was approved.
The first few days of our trip was good. The weather didn't cooperate and our hotel in Monteverde lost power for 14 hours. They did an awesome job in spite of the issues.
The main issues with the trip occurred after arriving in Manuel Antonio. Our first tour was cancelled at the last minute. This meant we didn't have time to set up another tour.
On our last day, we had our independent kayak tour. When we returned to the hotel, we had enough time for a cold shower and to pick up something to tide us until we arrived in San Jose. The transport scheduled never arrived.
No one answered the emergency line and the transport company had no record of the pickup.
After about 45 minutes, I send a message through the trip chat. We were finally contacted by the local agency representative and told the transfer was not organized. We were finally picked up about 90 minutes after we were supposed to be.
We requested compensation for the final transfer but were told "we provided the service even though it was outside the recommended travel hours, so unfortunately, compensation does not apply in this case". It seems though advertised that "pick-up times are flexible, so you can set the departure time whenever you like" this is not true. It was also extremely stressful not to be able to contact someone in case of an emergency.
Because of the issues we had our final two days, I would not recommend KimKim. The tour as planned fit our needs, but the cancellation of one tour, the failure to set up the transport for the final day and the fact WE COULDN'T REACH ANYONE on the Emergency line means I wouldn't trust relying on this company.
Incredible trip to New Zealand! Our planner was exceptional in customizing and adapting itineraries to suit our preferences and needs, especially since we traveled with our 2-year-old. Excellent accommodations, transportation, and experiences, along with great suggestions for our free time. Highly recommend, and we will definitely use the service again for our next visit to New Zealand.
Here is my honest and objective review:1. Places Visited – 5/5 ⭐Majid designed our itinerary based on our interests, and his recommendations were perfect. We absolutely loved Chefchaouen and Essaouira for their relaxing atmosphere, while Tangier, Fez, and Casablanca offered wonderful cultural and sightseeing experiences. Every city had its own charm, and the pace of the trip felt very comfortable.2. Hotels – 4.5/5 ⭐The hotel choices were superb overall. Of course, each property has its own strengths and weaknesses, but we were generally very happy with the quality, comfort, and service.We did have a mishap at Palais Faraj in Fez, where we had a very uncomfortable experience at the Hammam. However, this issue was entirely related to the hotel’s poor oversight and management, and Majid had absolutely nothing to do with it. In fact, he was very understanding and supportive when we mentioned it.3. Car and Driver – 5/5 ⭐This was the highlight of the trip. The car was always clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, making our long drives easy and pleasant. Our driver, Yousef, was excellent—friendly, helpful, honest, and an extremely safe driver. He was always prompt, professional, and responsible throughout the entire trip. Thank you Yousef for making our trip memorable. 4. Responsiveness and Communication – 5/5 ⭐Majid was quick to respond to all our questions before and during the trip. His guidance in planning the itinerary was thoughtful and well-organized. He clearly pays attention to details and made sure everything went smoothly.5. Price and Value – 5/5 ⭐The trip offered very good value for the quality of service, accommodations, and experiences we received. Everything felt fair and transparent.Overall Experience – 5/5 ⭐We had an amazing time in Morocco. Majid once again exceeded our expectations and made our journey memorable and stress-free. In fact, we are already thinking of coming back next year — and we will definitely use Majid’s services again.Thank you, Majid, for another unforgettable Moroccan adventure!
Going through kimkim for this trip was the absolute best decision! It was such a relief to not have to worry about finding taxis/ transportation when arriving from island to island or buying tickets. I have traveled with a large group on a tour and alone and I think going through kimkim combines the pros of both without the cons. We had an itinerary and transportation without having to keep up with a huge group or have to keep an itinerary that had activities we didn’t want to do. It was all personalized! My only complaint was that I did ask if the time of year we were traveling was still warm enough for the beaches before hand and was told yes, but unfortunately it was too chilly/ rainy when we arrived! But obviously they can’t control the weather!
We have a true 5 star review for Kim Kim. Joao set up a perfect itinerary for our wants and needs. He was always prompt getting back to us with questions and changes before our departure and during our trip. The Trip Plans app was thorough and detailed so we knew exactly where to go with maps and meet up spots. The restaurant recommendations were great and the "places we may want to check out in our free time" helped and the maps to each place made it easy to navigate. Joao also gave us excellent recommendations based on his knowledge of Portugal and the historic sites. He was easy to talk with and gave us thorough info on the sites and the history behind them. He was pleasant, paced our outings with sensitivity to my bad knees and told some funny stories of his experiences growing up in Portugal. Joanna was our guide for our half day in Porto. She was extremely knowledgeable, taking us to must see sites and giving us in-depth info on the way. She even stopped when I needed a break for my knees (and gelato). Thank you again and we will definitely keep Kim Kim on our radar for our next European experience!!!
