Car returned over 3 weeks ago when it was agreed there was nothing to pay and my deposit would be released.
They have STILL NOT RELEASED MY DEPOSIT despite making contact with them on several occasions and receiving assurances it would be released

Do not ever use KLASSWAGEN in any country, they will scam you. Porto KLASSWAGEN run by professional miscreants. They will force you to pay for full insurance, when you return a car, they will find scratches and charge you extortionate amount for that.

Only twice I have used this company (and only because they hid their brand under a pseudonym "EconomyCars" or similar name).
Draw your own conclusions.
If Algarve wishes to avoid being the by word for tourist scamming, they need to throw this company - and any nom de plumes it attempts to use - out of the Algarve.
How their employees try to keep their self respect is beyond me.

This is a scam and you are financially exposed unless you pay for their additional insurance, which is aggressively upsold at Faro airport. The car had numerous scratches and dents, scuffed alloys and only a partially full fuel tank. I was warned that unless I had documented evidence of all previous damage I would be financially liable and was presented with a price list of costs unless I took their additional insurance. There was simply too much vehicle damage to reliably document it all. I walked away and got an Uber.
Many of the favorable reviews seem automated, consisting of brief comments highlighting various positive aspects, often from accounts lacking names or profile pictures. To understand how this service truly functions, it's better to look at the one-star reviews. Most five-star ratings appear to be generated by bots, aside from this one.
Upon arriving at the rental agency with a valid Visa card, it was declined due to a claim about my name not being fully displayed. This led to a blocked rental and unnecessary stress. The only solution offered was to purchase additional insurance at nearly the rental price. Overall, this experience was far from satisfactory.
