I went on my first trip in May 2024 to Morocco, when the group was still more of a Facebook-based community that Shareen had originally started to find people to travel with her. Since then, I’ve seen her recognise the opportunity, quickly professionalise the operation, become regulated, and grow it into a thriving business. The growth has been impressive, which reflects how strong and in-demand this niche really is.Like any fast-growing business, there have been some growing pains along the way. However, what stands out is Shareen’s clear commitment to her core mission: taking women abroad—many for the very first time. A large proportion of travellers are aged 40–70, a demographic she herself is part of (we’re actually the same age), which I think helps her truly understand the needs of the group. Of course, there are some age variations, but this is generally the core audience I’ve observed. Her business model simply wouldn’t work if people didn’t have a great experience and want to book again—and in my experience, she genuinely does care about that. The sheer number of trips now offered shows how well this is working.Travel, especially international group travel, is never completely without hiccups. There are many moving parts, and not everyone on a trip has the same level of travel experience—some women need more support than others. At the same time, many travellers are repeat customers who have formed friendships, which creates a really nice dynamic within the group. I have shared a room with the same lady on 3 occasions now who I met thru LWT. If you’re considering joining, my advice would be to go for it and try a trip for yourself. Be open-minded and prepared to navigate the occasional bump—it’s part of the adventure. For me, it’s been genuinely life-changing. Since that first trip, I’ve travelled to Morocco, Iceland, Thailand, Panama, Cambodia, and Croatia. I’m also heading to Amsterdam this month to see the tulips with LWT and a Croatia sailing experience in August (second time).
Fantastic experience with Ladies who Travel. I’ve been on a few trips, in the UK as well as further afield, always great fun with a warm welcoming group of ladies. Shareen puts a huge effort into the itinerary and making sure everything runs smoothly. She’s great at checking in with the ladies, especially first timers to ensure they feel at ease. Highly recommend this group and excited for my next trip with them this summer.
I have done three trips with Ladies Who Travel one in the Peak District at Shoreditch Farm to meet Shareen and get a feel for the group. Having had a fantastic time on the UK trip I then decided to explore further a field choosing Thailand and then Bali. I can honestly say I have had the best time of my life so far in Asia. Shareen is a kind and caring lady who puts everyone’s needs first to ensure you have the experience of a lifetime. Both trips were planned meticulously with a mixture of adventure, excitement and also spiritual calmness. I can honestly say joining this wonderful group is the best decision I have ever made meeting likeminded ladies who want to see the world. Embrace every opportunity join in and make new friends you will not regret it. Thankyou Shareen ❤️ xxx
I started out with the group when the numbers were small. Visited and travelled with many since.Nothing I love more than an afternoon tea, a good long walk, a swim.People aren't my thing in general but especially now because of the extreme menopause I suffer. I nevertheless joined the group to challenge that behaviour. And I am delighted that I did.Walked Chamonix, swam in Croatian waters, kayaked in Hay-on-Wye... among other things.I get to do me, be me ... inserting myself, taking time out (from the shoppers 🤣) enjoying lush food.I am grateful to Shareen for creating the group. Giving people like me an escape from the clutches of menopause despair. I have found her respectful of individual needs, available for a whine, supportive of a tear.Of course people will form bonds of familiarity and it's inevitable that some will feel excluded because of that familiarity but I want to encourage everyone to set aside their resistance to embrace the experience. Insert yourself. The women on the tours are genuinely interested in you, your journey, having fun and enjoying a respite from everyday woes. The secret to success is grabbing the bull and taking it for a run.
Wow—what an amazing group!I can’t begin to express how much I enjoyed my LWT trip to Thailand. From the first hint that this trip might happen, to packing my bags, catching the flight, and meeting strangers at the airport—every moment felt exciting. Flying halfway around the world and spending two weeks with 23 other solo women, all first-timers, all stepping into new chapters of their lives, was genuinely special.Shareen, who founded and hosted the trip, was warm, organised, and completely took away any anxiety I had beforehand. I shared rooms with different ladies at each destination, and every day it felt like I discovered a new best friend to explore with.I’ve already booked my next international trip and can’t wait for more adventures in May with Shareen and the LWT community. You won’t regret joining!
