I went on my first trip in May 2024 to Morocco, when the group was still more of a Facebook-based community that Shareen had originally started to find people to travel with her.
Since then, I’ve seen her recognise the opportunity, quickly professionalise the operation, become regulated, and grow it into a thriving business. The growth has been impressive, which reflects how strong and in-demand this niche really is.
Like any fast-growing business, there have been some growing pains along the way. However, what stands out is Shareen’s clear commitment to her core mission: taking women abroad—many for the very first time. A large proportion of travellers are aged 40–70, a demographic she herself is part of (we’re actually the same age), which I think helps her truly understand the needs of the group. Of course, there are some age variations, but this is generally the core audience I’ve observed.
Her business model simply wouldn’t work if people didn’t have a great experience and want to book again—and in my experience, she genuinely does care about that. The sheer number of trips now offered shows how well this is working.
Travel, especially international group travel, is never completely without hiccups. There are many moving parts, and not everyone on a trip has the same level of travel experience—some women need more support than others. At the same time, many travellers are repeat customers who have formed friendships, which creates a really nice dynamic within the group. I have shared a room with the same lady on 3 occasions now who I met thru LWT.
If you’re considering joining, my advice would be to go for it and try a trip for yourself. Be open-minded and prepared to navigate the occasional bump—it’s part of the adventure.
For me, it’s been genuinely life-changing. Since that first trip, I’ve travelled to Morocco, Iceland, Thailand, Panama, Cambodia, and Croatia. I’m also heading to Amsterdam this month to see the tulips with LWT and a Croatia sailing experience in August (second time).
Ladies who travel, Thank you. I’m just home from Japan with LWT, wow. I had an amazing experience. What an itinerary! Shareen always makes her trips so special. I went not knowing a soul and returned with such special bonds with all the ladies on this trip. Japan was my second trip, I did Finland in January and still have Madeira Thailand and Borneo this year. Thank you shareen for opening my world x you are a true inspiration.
I am currently looking forward to my 4th international trip with LWT. I have also been on a weekend away in Wales and day meet ups. I joined originally as my family and friends didn’t have the same interest to travel and less sense of adventure. I didn’t want to continue procrastinating so put my ‘big girl pants’ on and booked to go to Morocco which was the first international trip ran by the group in May 2024. It really was wow! The thought and organisation that had gone into it was immense. I had no hesitation in booking again and have thoroughly enjoyed every trip. Shareen and her daughters are very welcoming. I have always felt included as part of the group and felt relaxed in their company. The group is supportive forming a whatsapp group for forthcoming events to discuss packing, currency, phone sims etc. Like many others I was apprehensive about meeting other women and sharing a room with a ‘stranger’. However I have got to know several women that have been on the same trips so our get togethers have been like therapy! I do believe that the group and the events has brought me so many positives to my life for which I’m extremely grateful for LWT! Thank you 💞 xx
I have just returned from my 3rd trip with Ladies Who Travel. Amsterdam was absolutely fantastic and Marianne our host was outstanding. I have made some life Long friendships that will take me through life. I have been to Bali with Shareen last year and the trip was outstanding. I have found Shareen to be very supportive and professional and would highly recommend any ladies to join “Ladies Who Travel” it has completely, changed my life 😀😀
I have travelled with ladies who travel on 6 trips now 3 in UK and 3 abroad: Morocco, Thailand and Vietnam. Shareen always comes up with an interesting program with loads to do and see and plenty of variety. If you are looking for fly and flop tours you probably won’t like the high energy but if like me you come to see new places (or even familiar ones with a new perspective) make new friends and get out of my comfort zone by trying new activities then I can’t fault Shareen’s tours. There is always something new and unexpected even for a seasoned traveller. For those less confident there are lots of supportive women who help to ensure there are strong bonds across the group. I go home (or continue to travel when I can get away with being away longer) with a full and happy heart. I am glad I take so many photos as do others which we all share as once I get home I can hardly believe what I have seen and done
I’ve travelled with Ladies Who Travel and my experience was completely different. From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed and supported by both Shareen and the other women on the trip. One of the things I loved most was the sense of community. Many of us arrived as solo travellers, but it didn’t take long before we were sharing meals, exploring together, and forming friendships that continued long after the trip ended. Shareen is incredibly passionate about what she has built and about creating opportunities for women to see the world with confidence. Organising trips for groups of people with different personalities can’t be easy, but I always felt she genuinely cared about the experience of the women travelling with her. For anyone considering travelling with Ladies Who Travel, my experience was that it’s a supportive environment where you can meet like-minded women and explore amazing places together.
From the bustle of Tokyo and the beautiful cherry blossom,to the the amazing ancient buildings of Takayama. Shrines and temples. Mugged by a heard of deer lol Travelled with a bunch of ladies I didn't know, who have now become friends. Japan. What a wonderful experience and what a great way to travel the places you wouldn't go on your own. This has been a well put together experience. Thankyou Shareen.x
This is my 5th holiday with this company . 3 in wales, Madeira and now pushed me further out of my comfort zone in Japan. Once again travelling with 15 strangers who have become friends. If you want to push yourself, be just you for a time and be inspired by other women who have done the same take the leap and book a trip. I can honestly say this group have lifted my spirits I feel stronger and more confident than ever before.
Came from the U.S. for a quick 4 night Amsterdam trip- Fantastic experience! Marianne did exceptional with the 20 women- She made sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of during the time there. We cruised the canals, enjoyed the flowers of the Keukenhof garden, Amsterdam Royal Palace, Jewish Quarter and of course the Anne Frank house! ( some extras were the Heineken Experience, local markets and even running into the filming of one of Brad Pitt’s movies). Thanks Shareen - Can’t wait until the next adventure!
