While the staff member was courteous, he couldn't locate my grandmother's acte de naissance. I had slightly misremembered the birth year (1878 instead of 1880), and there are two villages named Dambach in Bas Rhin, Alsace: Dambach Bas Rhin and Dambach la Ville. I mistakenly thought it was the former when it was actually the latter. However, I managed to find a scanned copy of her acte de naissance online in about 45 minutes. This raises questions about the effort your staff invested in the search. Given that I paid in advance, I felt quite let down.
