Products are always consistently great! From the texture to the scents and special releases the beard butter is my “go to” for everyday use and with certain special releases, I save for special occasions. Of course, this is coming from my wife- who matters most regarding the look, feel and scent of the face under the beard she has to kiss.
This brand was and is good and I didn’t mind paying extra because of the product. It’s when they decided to only sell specific scents in bundles and I felt that the smell test would cost me $74. I think they became woke. Sorry guys a lot of competition out there for you and I wish you well.Hint: marketing & accounting falls short when considering your base.Update: June 2024, Refreshing response from the Brotherhood- love the Maui scent and bought the bundle. I was ordering a gift from Live Bearded for my boyfriend and had difficulty. It was difficulty on my end not theirs. I reached out to their customer service department because I became so frustrated. They promptly got back to me. They placed my order for me and to my surprise they didn’t charge me because of my frustration and the time I had put into trying to place this order. They were so kind and so patient with me. I appreciated so much how they dealt with me. My boyfriend loves their products. He has been using them for a long time and he wanted to try a new scent and I wanted to surprise him with the Kit of the scent he wanted to try. I have watched numerous videos that they put out to their customers. I’ve read how they started their company. Their company plan is great! The owners, employees and customers are fantastic. It’s truly like a family. According to my boyfriend who has tried several different beard company products this is hands down his favorite! Highly recommend Live Bearded for so many reasons I just can’t imagine you’ll be disappointed. I believe you’ll be more than satisfied not only with their product but with their company as well!
After seeing a bunch of negative reviews for most beard care products being sold on Amazon (specifically those made in China), I snooped around the 'net and found Live Bearded. I bought two of their full kits (beard wash, conditioner, oil and styling butter), three bars of scented bar soap, and their sample pack, which includes little packets of the four kit products in all their scents (excluding any seasonal or special scents). So, in effect, I've tried all their products and all but their limited edition scents.The products are good. All but one of the scents are nice enough (and yeah, manly enough) to be used every day, and except for the oil and butter, are subtle enough to be hardly noticeable -- which is kind of a good thing, since the scent lives right under your nostrils all day. The one scent I wasn't fond of (Tombstone) wasn't horrible, just not my thing. The bar soaps are handsome and feature the same scents as the beard wash/conditioners. They are the durable kind of bar soap, that doesn't lather a whole lot and therefore lasts a long time. The scents are again, rather subdued, which is good or bad depending on your tastes.The products were a bit slow to arrive in the era of next-day shipping expectations, but they arrived in perfect shape -- no damaged bottles, no melting or "consistency of grits" angst like in a lot of the negatively reviewed Amazon (made in China) products. LB makes their products in the USA, if that matters to you. I notice that they do sell on Amazon, so it is possible (if you don't care about the reward points) to get free, next-day delivery by ordering there instead of on the LB site.The wash and conditioner feel good when I'm using them, and I do think my beard is actually softer from using their products than from using nothing at all or using regular hair shampoo, which is actually not at all good for facial hair (it removes important oils and dries your beard and facial skin out).My only gripe is the price. $20 is a bit steep for an 8 oz bottle of beard wash, even compared to other 8 oz bottles of made-in-USA, all-natural beard wash, such as from companies like Mountaineer Brand ($16 for 8 oz, a whopping 20% cheaper!), whose website is so similar to Live Bearded that it has made the search "are Live Bearded and Mountaineer the same company?" an autofill search on Google. Tl;dr? Good products but up to 20% more expensive than similar products. Ships pretty slowly by modern standards, but you can alternatively order from Amazon and get the usual Prime benefits.
