I bought a brand new boat a couple of months ago, and the motor failed, leaving us stranded. The motor was defective at the time of purchase, and it has been in the service center for weeks now. ***Brief version*** If you’re considering financing through them, don’t just walk away—RUN! Do not fill out a credit application! They won’t even provide you a copy for your records! Unbelievable! **Long version** Despite their polite demeanor, I was misled into signing a dealership credit application that they claimed would not affect my credit score. This was completely false; my score dropped immediately. They also ran my credit without my consent, despite my explicit instructions. After multiple conversations trying to resolve this, I was met with resistance from the owner, who insisted this is their standard practice. It was incredibly frustrating. I have documentation to support my claims. The credit application does not even state that I consent to them running my credit with lenders. The owner made bizarre comments during our conversation, which seemed irrelevant to the issues at hand. I’ve been told repeatedly how great they are, yet my experience was anything but satisfactory. I will be looking for a more reputable dealer, even if it costs me more money. Save your credit score and avoid the drama—take your business elsewhere!
