I wanted to pass on our thanks, we had a wonderful night at your restaurant last night. The staff were very accommodating and very helpful to us, and the food was excellent! Please pass on our thanks to all who looked after us last night – they were awesome! We were a party of 18 and had some last minute changes to numbers and menu choices, everything was accommodated without any issues.Highly recommend.
Had a scrummy pizza here in the Southampton Losteria early today, but my enjoyable experience got RUINED when it came to dessert. I ordered what I expected to be some lovely fresh strawberries with a side of cream, but rather the cream was the whole meal itself. This is a ridiculous amount of cream I mean really an entire sundae glass full to the brim with about 4 whole strawberries buried in the bottom?!? The Italians would be dissapointed.
We have visited L'Osteria twice in the past year. Both times there has been an awful atmosphere with the staff. The first time there was a staff meeting in the dining area which was very clearly negative. Staff were being told off and some were crying. There seemed to be some kind of confrontation which should have been in private. This is as we were eating our lunch. The second time we visited we were met with hostility from staff. They also all seemed hostile with eachother. We witnessed multiple moments of staff snapping at eachother, rolling eyes behind eachothers backs and even completely ignoring eachother. It felt like we were having dinner in a very argumentative and tense environment. Imagine going to a dinner party where your two hosts are arguing with eachother. Very uncomfortable. We were also treated very poorly. Slow service when the resturatant was only a quarter full. No friendliness or smiles from staff. No goodbye as we left. The whole staffing team seemed angry, fed up, disorganised and uninterested. We were willing to give the benefit of the doubt after the first visit but after the second we will not be visiting again. We have advised friends and family do the same. Food was mediocre and nothing special. Pizza was under baked and soggy. Plenty of better places to eat.

Once the doors open at L’Osteria, you’ll feel like you’re in a typical Italian osteria, where people get together to eat really well and enjoy the company of families, friends, couples, old and young.
