Almost Famous - Leeds - Poor Management?

Went for the first time in a number of years last night as we had colleagues visiting Leeds. I felt sorry for the staff as they were clearly ill-prepared for the number of guests in the restaurant. I think I saw one wait staff, one bar staff, and presumably there was only one in the kitchen. They were run ragged and that’s the fault of whoever the manger is. Nobody should have to wait 50+ minutes to receive their food in a 1/3 full burger restaurant. That was us and several other tables that arrived around 1930. Also a shame that several things our table wanted were not available as they’d run out. Granted there is currently a 50% off burgers offer on but again it’s on the manager to be prepared. The food itself was great once it arrived and I enjoyed my boozy milkshake. EDIT - a little over a week later and they’ve closed down. Yes, there’s economic variables but at the end of the day it’s poor management from the top down.

Great burgers and fries!

Almost Famous in Manchester. Everything we ordered was cooked well. From the juicy burgers to the loaded fries - really good! The service was excellent—the staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside to an otherwise fantastic experience was the cutlery. A flimsy wooden fork just doesn’t cut it—literally. Trying to enjoy such amazing food with a wooden fork felt like a mismatch. A proper metal knife and fork would make a world of difference. All in all, Almost Famous is a great spot for anyone who loves indulgent burgers. They just need to step up their cutlery game to match the quality of everything else!

I ordered 5 milkshakes and 5 cakes

I ordered 5 milkshakes and 5 cakes. They only brought me the cakes and the milshakes didn't come. The delivery man told me that in the store they only gave him the cakes to bring. I called the store and said this at the store... the store said that the driver is a liar... but apparently the man in the store is the liar because from what I'm reading here they fail everyone... I think that the store should close because it can't afford to be open... because people are eating the money and people aren't even eating the food they pay for... great shit store, I'll never buy anything from them again

Avoid for bottomless brunch

Booked for bottomless brunch in Leeds to celebrate 2 birthdays. Party of 12.Unfortunately from start to finish the service was poor.Ordered drinks which started the bottomless brunch timer, had to wait half an hour for them to arrive. Ordered next lot of drinks, didn’t all arrive and member of the party had to go order the missing drinks and bring them to the table. After another half hour the food order was eventually taken, unsure what happened between ordering and the transferring of that info to the kitchen but when the food arrived at least half of the orders were incorrect with some of them missing the requested sides. Informed the incorrect sides and missing sides would be rectified and would be brought to the table, which did happen but a while after everyone had actually finished what food they had. But still with 1 member of the party not receiving their ordered side.Spoke to manager who extended the brunch for half an hour, by this point we had been there unnecessarily for 3 hours. The bill then caused major confusion. Staff seemingly unaware of the fixed £37.50pp for brunch as clearly stated on the menu which was on the table at time of payment. Repeatedly asked by the person taking payment how much it was. Service charge kept being mentioned despite being informed numerous times we were not paying it for the diabolical service received.Excuses given of short staffed and new staff. Staffing and training issues are not the problems of diners. If a service can’t be provided it shouldn’t be offered. Or an explanation at the beginning could be appreciated to explain longer wait times, over just receiving what looks like bad service. Other people talking to us were also complaining of poor service for their brunches too.Just generally a terrible experience and will not be returning. Service received in May was exceptional and that’s the reason we chose to revisit this time, shame to see how downhill it has gone!Don’t waste your time and money on bottomless brunch at almost famous. Go elsewhere.

Understaffed and undercooked.

Understaffed, didn't ask us how our food was mid way through eating, one of the patties was undercooked raw in the middle.Expected a tip on top of that.

All in all a dreadful eating experience.

My family visited Almost Famous Great Northern in Manchester on Friday Night and we were seated in the furthest table in the restaurant with a badly placed huge speaker directly above us.I work in Audio Visual so I am used to loud noises but knew it was wrongly placed. You could barely hear each other so we asked to move. The lady was very terse and said that there are speakers all over the restaurant and reluctantly agreed to move us.Surprise surprise the table we moved too was much better and you could hear what the next person was saying. In fact everywhere else in the restaurant was more audible when you spoke. We ordered our food and 4 identical cocktails. We also asked if we could have a jug of water whilst we waited. After a 20 minuite wait a member of staff came over to the table carrying just 2 cocktails and informed us that the machine needed a further 20 minuites before he could bring another 2 cocktails over.I explained that we were happy to wait as we wanted all the drinks at the same time and that we could have the water in the meantime. He seemed very instant on us keeping the 2 cocktails as he now didn’t know what to do with them.So insistent that it left us feeling like we had done something wrong. It spoilt the whole mood. After another 10 minutes I had to get up and ask for the water which had still not arrived. We were just about to get up and leave without eating when our food arrived, so we stayed to eat our cold chips and mediocre burgers but did not stay long in the restaurant. We had planned to have many drinks. They even had the cheek to put on a service charge which I swiftly asked to be removed. All in all a dreadful eating experience.

Do not order from Famous At Home

Ordered (28584) Famous at Home boxes (Phoenix & Bacon Fries kit for 2 plus b*tch juice, Nom & Bacon Fries kit for 2 plus b*tch juice, and Redneck BBQ sauce) in October 2023 for deliver on 3rd November 2023. Only the Nom & Bacon Fries kit arrived and it was missing the redneck BBQ sauce, slaw mayo and the top on the famous sauce wasn't secure so most of that was coating the cardboard tube. Tried emailing on the 3rd November about the missing kit and missing items. I have also tried phoning their head office several times (their phone number 0161 244 9992 doesn't work). Only got a response when I phoned one of their stores or when I used an email address related to a job being advertised. They offered to send me new boxes in their December delivery or a refund. I ask for the boxes to be part of their 29th December 2023 delivery as we really like the product, however, they never arrived :-(. I have been chasing them ever since by email as I can never get through on the phone. All I want is a refund now. Customer service is shocking, well it is non-existent. Do not feel comfortable ever ordering from them again as they obviously can deal with anything that goes wrong. Going to have to resort to perusing a refund though my credit card company. Such a pain.

Not an honest company

Completely misadvertised on their website. States very clearly on their website that bottomless brunch is available on a Sunday so booked well in advance only to come in and the waiter lied saying not open on a Sunday. When we showed the website clearly showing on a Sunday they then just said not even open for a few weeks. Absolutely disgraceful service.

Absolute rip off.We had two Butter…

Absolute rip off.We had two Butter Blood Bleu burgers. The portions were tiny. There is more taste in a McDonald’s..In fact that’s where we called afterwards as we were so hungry.Extortionate prices. We went to the Leeds branch.Unfriendly and service left a lot to be desired. Our first and last time sadly!!
