Trying to book online to take our grandson, shocking experience, site kept resetting, losing information, with all the issues i ended up booking the wrong date, the website had an option to Make enquiries with categories like amend booking dates, refunds and others, we asked to change the booking, they flatly refused, no refund no amendment no support, every time we contact them they just say no, awful experience, sad to say we won't be visiting the Louvre so our grandson won't get to see everything as I'm not paying twice
My grandmother and I were unable to enter with tickets purchased from the museum's website. The staff was incredibly rude, which was surprising in Paris. The website is confusing, and the lack of communication regarding opening hours due to the strike is concerning. The dismissive attitude I encountered when seeking clarification was unacceptable. Unless you're prepared for a confusing ticket process and unhelpful staff, I recommend visiting other art museums in the city.
My grandmother and I faced significant issues getting in with tickets purchased from the museum's website. The staff was exceptionally rude, far beyond anything I've encountered in Paris before. The website is confusing, the opening hours due to the strike are unclear, and overall communication is severely lacking. The dismissive tone used when I sought clarification was unacceptable. If you're not ready to deal with a confusing ticket process and unhelpful staff, I suggest avoiding this tourist spot in favor of other art museums in the area.
I gave two stars because the art is incredible. However, the museum experience was disappointing. It was hot, overcrowded, and noisy, with lines everywhere. The information desks just redirected us to other desks without helpful guidance. There were no maps or directions. The presentation of the Mona Lisa was disappointing—people were just pushing to the front for selfies. We took a guided tour, but it lasted under 60 minutes, and the earphones had no volume control with too much static. Overall, a total letdown.
As an art historian, I must say I had a terrible experience! The art is fantastic, deserving of an 11-star rating, but the Louvre was extremely busy and hot. It felt like a festival where you couldn't move freely due to the crowds. There was no air conditioning and limited restroom facilities, only at the entrance, which were insufficient for the number of visitors. Lines were everywhere, and it was frustrating to navigate the museum without sufficient maps. I planned to stay the whole day but left after just 2.5 hours, utterly exhausted.
This museum is the worst to visit. The staff, especially those managing the queues, were very rude and often interrupted our visit with unreasonable demands. Although we had pre-booked tickets, we waited almost an hour in the rain to enter. The manual checking process was outdated and frustrating. The restroom facilities were terrible, with long lines and poor maintenance. Accessibility for wheelchair users was inadequate, causing significant distress for my elderly parents. Complaints fell on deaf ears, and I left feeling heartbroken over the experience. I won't return.
My email was blocked by the museum's ticketing system without warning or explanation. When I sought assistance, a staff member responded rudely, insisting I create a new email to purchase tickets, offering no alternatives. This level of service is unacceptable for a public institution and shows a lack of respect for customers.
I was very disappointed. The museum didn't live up to its reputation. The Mona Lisa should have scheduled viewings due to overcrowding. The Greek section was small compared to other museums, and overall, the Louvre felt more hype than substance.
