Marriott = Silver tongued deception. I had enjoyed Marriott resorts and hotels for years and was recently sold on an "ownership"/time-share while in Florida. Mis-representation on all fronts. Beware of all Marriott, Sheraton, and related brands presentations. NO PROMISES HAVE BEEN ACCURATELY DELIVERED. I was told I could pay with my credit card to get points, they wouldn't let me and made me sign up for a loan telling me to pay it with the credit card once the deal closed. 45 days later, I had a loan that could not be paid for with the credit card. I was going to cancel as I felt uneasy the day after. I was promised an immediate week stay at a Marriott brand resort via Interval International. Then I was told I had to wait 45 days. Then 45 days later (over 90 total), I finally get an Interval account. Immediate or 90 days? I was then promised unlimited certificate weeks via Interval for flat fees for a studio, 1 bed, or 2 bed. This does not exist. All vacations have to be paid for and are not flat fees. Next, I was sold as a Marriott Vacation Club. In closing, it was then Sheraton (this requires banking of points into a different system a year ahead of time in order to use the following year at Marriott). This was not explained. There were then additional yearly fees added in at the end once we had committed. Higher maintenance fee because we didn't buy a bigger package. I was also promised Marriott Gold Elite status. This is still to be delivered over 90 days later. When I asked for clarification and help, Dustin Miller, the sales rep, was degrading, accusatory, and manipulative. This entire experience with Marriott has been absolutely atrocious. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE of Marriott!!!
Was really sad to see one of Marriott Vacation Club’s employers, Ashley Ferraro, spewing vile hatred online on Mexican Americans. It’s disgusting to see, and I won’t be a patron of someone who employs people like this.
Hands-down, the dumbest financial move I’ve made was to buy a timeshare from Marriott Vacation Club. Aside from incessant marketing, a nearly useless website, and mountains of “small print”, I’m continually amazed by how little I get for the money I have spent. If you are considering buying a MWC timeshare—just don’t!
I bought this two weeks ago and I use it every year. The flexibility it offers is great, especially with the points system. I truly enjoy my platinum card and have no regrets about my decision; I will definitely consider buying more.
The company wrongfully foreclosed on my timeshare. Even though I paid it off completely and ensured my mail was forwarded, I never received the maintenance fee invoice. They didn't even attempt to contact me via email. This reflects a fraudulent practice in the industry.
These people lie and are very deceitful. Their response is nothing but BS. They will take your money and you will never get anything of value. The Department of Justice needs to shut this organization DOWN. They are thieves and the most untruthful people you will ever come in contact with. Marriott Vacation Club is a SCAM. They will delay, deny and deflect your concerns so you have to pay more for maintenance fees. The CEO Anthony Capuano needs to be investigated ASAP and thrown in jail!!!
Really unhappy with this service and havent even booked our first stay. Attended a sales meeting in Bali and was very impressed by what the future of our holidays could look like with M. Vacation. Well tbh we were fools and feel quite frankly scammed. The booking process is hard, the customer support is non existent and its taken over 3 weeks for an agent to tell us the dates we want to book a stay for are unavailable. 3 weeks it takes that long, really...I feel deeply saddened that we are spending money towards holidays that feel won't materialise or equate towards what we were spending without "points". I don't recommend anyone buy into this as there's no out for 30+ years. Left a really bad taste of Mariott as a brand all together and they have alot to improve on!
I was sold a 5 day 4 night stay in Costa Rica for $199. When they told me the price I was floored thinking it was such a good deal that I’d be dumb to pass it up. Shortly after they called to schedule my stay and then proceeded to tell me that I needed to pay another 599 to get the package and what I had paid was just the deposit. I told them that I was not informed that it was only a deposit and that I didn’t wish to go and found out that they do not have a refund policy even if I had been mislead. I don’t know about anyone else but I for one do not wish to use a company that is ok with their employees exploiting customers. I had to post a review everywhere possible and hopefully the next person they call will not fall for their trap.
UPDATE to keep others from being taken advantage of in my opinion by this company!I received a Statement of Owner Account this week for Operating Fees, Owner Club Dues & Property Tax Fee with a due date of 12/1/2025, in this climate this company decided to bill me for this date verses the original date of 2/2025 for 2025 Maintenance Fees from Closing and 2025 Club Dues from Closing. That means that I paid these fees in 2/25 for 2025 so why I'm I being required to pay these monies by 12/1/2025 for 2026 (with a penalty if I don't pay by this date) when I paid these monies in February of 2025 again for 2025. AGAIN, DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THESE PEOPLE SAY IN THE MANIUPLATION SESSIONS IN MY OPINION! I haven't even used the facility, and I've paid out $1,064.80 2/25, $2,690 in payments for 10 months know they want maintenance fees by 12/1 in the amount of $1,069.80 this is RIDICULOUS! I spoke to a representative about the dues due date not being fair and or doable at this time with the financial climate and she was unable to assist. She just informed me that I will be charged additional money for not paying by 12/1/2025. There needs to be a class action suit taken against these fraudulent companies in my opinion!!!
Everything about the Marriott Vacation Club (MVC) is just the worst. You’d think dealing with a big name brand like Marriott would mean something, but these guys (MVC) have nothing in common with the Marriott Hotels we know and trust. Instead, they act like a bunch of sleezy bullies who take advantage of the good Marriott name but only care about taking your money and leaving you with the worst product imaginable. They lure you in with some gift cards and trap you in this high-pressure environment where they tell you that there’s a special deal they work out for you, but you have to sign that day. So you end up spending thousands on points only to later find out that they aren’t worth squat...and booking is just impossible for where you want to go...even a year out! Spare yourself the headache and just stick to a hotel or other lodging for any traveling you want to do. Despite our medical conditions, Marriott Vacation Club doesn’t care; they are more than happy to shamelessly wave your contract in your face and hold out their hand for another payment. even though they know our financial situation and we couldn’t even use it if we wanted to. Their customer service is a joke. They’ll tell you there’s nothing to be done about it and treat you like the bad guy for the mess they reeled you into. The whole scheme needs to be shut down! At least Marriott Hotels are still great, very accommodating and pleasant to work with. I’m planning a big family reunion coming up with the hotel side. If only Marriott Vacation Club was more like them!
