I had made a reservation for tonight and reached out beforehand to request a quiet table by the window, as I was celebrating my birthday alone. I was assured over the phone that this would be accommodated. Upon my arrival, I was told that this was not an option at all, and the way the manager handled the situation was cold, rude, and dismissive. There was no apology, no effort to find a solution, and no kindness — just a blunt refusal with a simple 'no, this is all we have'. To make matters worse, the manager's tone was cold and almost aggressive when they added, 'the kitchen will close in one hour', which felt like a rush to push me out or discourage me from staying. I can't comprehend how this behavior is acceptable towards a client who made a reservation, called in advance with a specific request, and came for a birthday celebration. Even if my request couldn't be met, I would have expected at least a polite explanation and an apology. Unfortunately, none of that occurred. Due to this attitude and the complete disregard for what was promised, I chose not to stay. A dining experience is about more than just food; hospitality is key, and that was entirely absent. Truly disappointing.

I have always enjoyed the food, drinks, and service. However, this time at the Rotterdam location ended on a sour note. Just two minutes after paying the bill, while waiting for my mom to return from the restroom, we were asked to leave to make room for new customers. Quite shameful!
We visited at the Central Station. Initially, we asked if we could just have drinks on the terrace, and the waiter said he would check. After about 10 minutes, he returned to say it was fine. After waiting another 20 minutes, we kindly asked if we could order, and a friendly waitress took our order after 5 more minutes. It took another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive, so we decided to go elsewhere for our next round. We wished the reception staff a nice day, but he turned away without responding. The second star is solely for the friendly waitress.
What was supposed to be a final lunch in Holland before returning to England turned out to be disappointing. Staff appeared uninterested and rude, coughing and sneezing at the table. The meatball served was still frozen in the middle; after I complained, a new one was brought out but it was just reheated in the microwave. How can a chef allow this? Perhaps some senior staff should teach the younger ones what proper service looks like.
What a letdown! I've visited several locations but this was my first time in Houten. My partner's steak arrived undercooked, and when he sent it back, it returned still barely cooked. He ordered it with chicken livers but received only a few dry pieces alongside overly salty bacon. If you ran out of livers, just say so! The steak also had an off smell and strange taste. At this point, my partner lost his appetite, and the waitress didn't even ask why he didn't eat. This experience was far below the standard set by other locations. I won't recommend Houten!
My family and I went to a location at Central Station for dinner. I was informed that they don't serve dinner on the terrace that day, but the employee's manner was unacceptable. He said, 'well yeah you can sit outside but you gotta wait a long time since no one will serve you there.' We left and called to check if the terrace at another location was open. I was told it wasn't busy and they would serve dinner outside, so we should come. Upon arrival, we were told, 'Oh, we don't serve dinner outside today and our waiting list inside is 40 minutes.' Terrible service and no communication! We were looking forward to dinner but were treated poorly at both locations and misled over the phone. We wasted two hours just to be told the terrace was closed, despite assurances otherwise. Zero hospitality at both locations. How is this acceptable?
I visited a location during the Kings Day celebrations. It was busy, and I had heard good things. I ordered the tenderloin steak without being asked how I wanted it cooked. It arrived very rare, almost blue inside, with a lot of sauce that possibly masked its undercooked state. The next day, I suffered severe food poisoning that nearly caused me to miss my flight back. I contacted the restaurant to inform them, but they dismissed my concerns, stating they followed all procedures. I've dined at many restaurants in the Netherlands and have never encountered such an issue. My colleagues are now aware of this experience and will be avoiding this restaurant in the future.
