I have been in the store and our local and even out of area Maurice's have great staff. Clothing is nice and fits well, if it snags or is damaged normally they replace it. Always a great place for clothing for a bigger girl and even smaller girls
In store purchases are great, other than rarely having tall sizes, which is why I had to order online. Ordering online is another story. They are supposed to ship within 24-48 hours. It has been 4 business days and still "processing" even though my credit card was charged 4 days ago. Customer service is Outsourced...in other words, English is not their 1st language and you can't speak to an American. They read off a script and can only tell me what I can already see on my account...that it's "processing." But they "assure" me it will be received in the timeframe: shipped in 24-48 hrs with 3-8 days ground shipping...which they've already missed. HORRIBLE, USELESS customer service. On my 2nd call in 2 days, and after very forceful insistence, I finally was able to speak with a U.S. based "supervisor" names "Frances" who also confirmed it's still at the warehouse but couldn't tell me when it would ship...maybe early next week. (I ordered on a Tuesday evening and it's now Friday afternoon.) Add another 3-8 days in transit. I might get $165 worth of jeans by NEXT Friday, if I'm lucky. *Update-Frances sent an email saying she gave me incorrect info and that I should receive the order by September 22, not the 17th. It was ordered and PAID FOR on Sept. 9. DO NOT RECOMMEND ORDERING ONLINE. *If I order again (because I like their jeans), I will do as I have in the past...drive to their store in another city (actually in another state) and have THEM order for me. I placed my last order like that and received in 5 days.
Normally I buy at the Effingham, IL store which has EXCELLENT customer service. Recently I went to their store in Mattoon, IL and the customer service was TERRIBLE!! I found a couple items which I wanted to try on and they did not offer me a dressing room or even speak to me. No other customers in the store and 3 employees....all totally ignored me. I will NEVER go to the Mattoon, IL location again. I never encountered such rude sales people!!!
Do not use the Maurice credit card and lose a receipt bc they will charge you for unknown items. I purchased a pair of jeans that were not over 45$, I lost the receipt and went back in the store but only exchanged them for two additional pairs. totaling 65$. Which I paid in Full. Then a couple weeks later they sent me a bill for an additional 32$. These jeans that were half off have turned into very expensive jeans because Maurice does not keep purchases on file or on line for you and instead they charge you without being able to tell you what the charge is for. I am waiting to see if they refund my money but I doubt they will. So save those receipts, they keep nothing on line for you as a customer and they will charge you additional fees for unknown things. Be aware! I would not use their credit card ever.
My wife purchase clothes and Great Bead Ks. They stated if she signed up for a Maurices credit card she would get a discount. We got a statement on April the 10 for $43.19 and are bank paid it on April 15 ,2025 The next in May statement Maurices had a late charge of $38.96 because they never cashed the check until May 5, 2025. My wife spoke to a Nickolus, and he said they never received the $43.19 he would remove the late charges if she kept the account open. I told her to close the account, so she paid $79.27. Two days later Maurices cashed the bank check for $43.27. She has talk to three other people all of them refused to do a thing to try to fix the problem. These stores know full that the banks will mail the first payment on a new credit card. On top of that they know that it will take 7 to 10 days before you receive their statement. Then the fact the bank mailed their check on April 15, and they never cashed the check until May 2, 2025. This is called pocketing the payment. Our family will never do any business with Maurices stores.
Tried to pay for an order online with the app and it kept sending me back to the sign in page. Super frustrating. I thought it would be nice to have the store credit card to order online but I have never been able to make a purchase and customer service doesn't actually exist so that's fun. Don't waste your time with this stores credit card or app
maurices credit policy is terrible. I sent the $25 I owed to pay my bill off before the due date. I didn't realize the credit card number had changed. The fully paid off amount went to an old account number. I contacted maurices and spoke with a manager. They realized the mistake and transferred the funds to the new account number. However, he would not give me credit for the $34.08 in fees.The manager said I should pay the late fees even though maurices had my fully paid off amount before the due date. If I did not they will continue to increase the late fees and send my account to collection for $100's of dollars at some point in the future.I've closed the account and will never walk into another maurices. It makes me sad, because I want to support maurices employees.
This past experience with Maurice’s start on Thursday January 16, I go to the store to pick up my orders. Now I asked the lady at the Brookfield store in brookfield Wisconsin to let's go over my orders because I know there's a lot and something else can get missed so we went over the orders however when I get home, I knew something was missing so I went back over the orders because the first time she missed the whole bag now this time she missed a whole item so now I have to go back to the store, but I didn't go back to the store till today, which is Saturday January 18th because I had to pick up another order. My boots had come in so when I get to the store, I asked the young lady that was there. I gave her my name told her I was there for my items that came through she looks for the items she can't find my items now mind you on Thursday I spoke to Lori and I let her know I was missing an item so Saturday today I'm there to pick up my items and the young ladies can't find them not only can’t she find the item missing now that was left behind now they can't find the new order for my boots, so they call Lori as they stated. She doesn't answer. They go in the backroom looking for the items and the other package still can’t find them, then they look one more time in the front and they still can't find them now this is frustrating and an inconvenience for me because this is the second time that I have come out here, and I understand why I've come out here which is for my second order but now they can't find a missing item, and my second order. now I have to return everything because they don’t know where the packages are because of the young lady. Lori said she's was going to them put up and let the girls know so now I'm frustrated. And It's an inconvenience because my packages are missing so I return everything but I’m still wondering where did my packages go. I'm writing this review because this was the worst day that I've had at Maurices. I've had this experience before at Mayfair collection store in Wauwatosa, WI and now the store is closed permanently not sure why but overtime their customer service started to decline too. As far as I'm concerned Maurices Customers service use to be prompt. They've always been assuring and now I don't know if I wanna order from Maurice's anymore. I’ve been a customer for over 5 plus years and I understand things happen but multiple orders have gone missing according to one of the young ladies. By the way The young lady who returned the items I can’t blame her she was trying her best to make things right if I’m correct she did the return her name on the receipt said Aaliyah. So I respect that she tried to make it right but that was bad customer service on the other young ladies part no communication with other staff on order issues. That’s not a good look for a company.
