Review Time
In my opinion, 1 star is to good for this organisation.
This is an update to a previous review.
I had made a formal complaint to Moorcroft following their unconventional tactics in relation to an alleged EE debt.
In response to my complaint, Moorcroft stated that they wanted to reassure me that it wasn't their intention to cause me any inconvenience or upset me, and all contact made by them would have been for legitimate business reasons.
I guess bullying and harassment are legitimate!!
Moorcroft upheld my complaint on the basis that I called them to explain that I would not be paying any sums as I was not their client and the debt was disputed. They also acknowledged my request for them not to contact me again.
However, my request for Moorcroft to cease contacting me was ignored. What followed was a bombarding of phone calls at different times during the day; some of which were calls made late hours in the evening and communication informing me about the debt to EE. My follow up phone calls to them were also ignored.
It was only after I formalised my complaint, requested that Moorcroft delete my data and threatened action did they listen to me. The excuse they gave was human error. It remains their human excuse and their sincere apologies for inconvenience and distress is also an excuse! It is just words and means nothing as they are not truly sorry and totally insincere.
Their decision to uphold my complaint and to offer me £25.00 as a resolution is a total insult and I have not accepted it.
I have since phoned Moorcroft to express my feelings about the offer and to reiterate the methods that they used, tantamount to bullying and harassment. I have also made clear that their practices were widespread in particular, to people like myself who are of pensionable age and potentially vulnerable.
I have not had a written response from their compliance department as yet and if this is not forthcoming, I will not hesitate to take the matter further.
It is not necessary to give your insincere response on this platform to try and convince that you are here to help resolve the issues. Neither is it necessary for you to ask me to contact you on a social media platform or to give you my name and personal contact details. You already have these but to identify this case further your Moorcroft Reference is: 006826880926.
The communication from this company has been utterly unacceptable, bordering on harassment. Despite my repeated attempts to clarify a false outstanding balance on a fully paid credit card, they continue to send letters. I've provided proof of payment, yet their harassment persists. They also send correspondence to an outdated address that was never linked to the original debt. I cannot trust a company that fails to conduct proper due diligence before reaching out about non-existent debts. It’s clear they take advantage of individuals with past debts, hoping to exploit the unsuspecting. This behavior is disgraceful.
While they are a debt collection agency, there comes a point when one wants to improve their situation. For years, I avoided contact out of fear. When I accidentally answered their call, I was pleasantly surprised by the polite representative who focused on not overwhelming me. He expressed a desire for me not to struggle and suggested that any payment is better than none. After requesting a callback at a convenient time, I appreciated their patience and understanding. Interacting with them made dealing with debt collectors easier, and I believe this agency stands out positively in the debt collection field.
I was pursued by this company for a debt that had already been settled. I had to formally contest the account to halt their collection efforts, which caused unnecessary stress and wasted my time dealing with a debt that didn’t exist. Debt collection should rely on verified information.
Not helpful at all. I’ve paid my dues, yet they continue to take direct debits. I requested a refund and was told I would receive a letter confirming my credit status and to call for a refund. I had just asked for one! Be vigilant about your direct debits.
My husband and I are under a debt relief order, and despite informing this company multiple times and providing proof, they continue to harass us via email and letters. They need to understand that they are not supposed to contact us. This ongoing stress feels like bullying, and I will seek legal advice if it continues, as they risk legal repercussions for their actions.
