Pick up was fsst and efficient, and the actual hireage was fine enough.
The return however was pretty ridiculous, park where the parking man told me to, pointed inside to stand at a counter, have a number of staff walk past and say nothing, continue waiting at the counter for 30 minutes, finally someone comes and write down the time, get told to sit and wait, continue waiting for another 45 minutes.
Terrible experience, we waited up to 3 hours before we could collect our camper because they were "checking tire pressure", it turned out they were actually trying to repair a broken battery + fridge which I only found out as I walked around the building to see a mechanic clearly repairing the vehicle, I should have known I was in for a bad experience when the representatives blatantly lied to my face upon arrival.After this 3 hour wait we are then sent away in a fault vehicle (which we have been assured is 100% repaired). 24 hours later our fridge is broken, all of our food is wasted and we had to eat out for the remainder of our trip and can't enjoy and actual camping experience, we've essentially just rented a regular van.Absolutely disgraceful, complete negligence on the company for knowingly sending us away in faulty vehicle.
I would give zero star if possible as we booked the van at 9 a.m and got a call on last min saying it wil be ready by 11. Half of the day was wasted as we got the car at 12:30 only. The staffs were very interesting. Elderly lady with the glasses was very whingeing saying “all the other people are waiting why can’t you wait “. Half of the day was wasted waiting for the car which we paid for. Got no complain on the cars as they were very good. I left lost property arrival voice mail and gmail for which I got no respond. I think if you’re not responding it’s worth not having it. I left my Bose speaker infront of the windscreen and when I went back to collect it next day it was not there. I got video vlogs and pic to prove it. I left voice message and email to inquire but no respond. It has been half a month now. Please respond me back regarding the lost property please.
The camper was not the one we booked..Despite charging it overnight and then driving to the camp ground and having a solar panel the battery was so flat it would not work the internal lights.On reporting this on return there was no offer of a refund.The staff themselves were very helpful.
the worst rented camper we had in the last 30 years (and we rented every year a camper, the 5th time in Australia!)As I have written already to Mighty Campers in Hobart we had the following problems:- The vehicle was dirty, the shelves were covered in salt, and we found tissues, sunglasses, and tweezers in the vehicle during our trip.- Immediately after picking up the vehicle, the warning light came on indicating low engine oil, so we had to refill it right away.- The windshield wipers were smearing (and we had a lot of rain), but we couldn't find new ones anywhere.- The cutlery drawer kept opening; the button to close it didn't work.- The mattresses were worn out and very dirty.There was an iron bar under the mattress in the Alkhoven – what was it doing there? It was too big for the trunk.- The large drawer next to the refrigerator was constantly stuck and could not be opened.- The table in the rear area wobbled a lot. It was reattached after we complained, but it continued to wobble and we couldn't use it for eating.We would never use Mighty/Maui again. It was simply a bad experience for the price of around 200 euros per day – and that for a rental period of almost 4 weeks! 12/21/25 – 1/16/26
