NO NO NO NO NO AVOID AVOID AVOID CODE RED DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING SCAMMERS AT WORK.
I have never dealt with such unhelpful charlatans in my whole life. They lie, the cars are faulty, fake MOTs come with the cars, aftercare 🤣🤣🤣 is one man sitting possibly out back in a shed, 150 point inspection 🤣 more like -150. Do yourself a favour and do not buy a car from these crocks.
Absolutely pathetic experience. >
I officially reserved a car, yet they kept it listed as unreserved. It turns out most of their online listings are completely fake—they don't actually have those vehicles in stock at all.
To make matters worse, the customer service is shockingly bad. I was promised a video of the car by Sunday, which never arrived. Now, no one even bothers to answer the phone or reply to messages.
Please think twice before buying anything from this dealership. If they treat customers with this level of incompetence and neglect before making a sale, I can't even imagine the nightmare of dealing with their after-sales support. Avoid them at all costs!
Worst experience i have had since trying to finance a vehicle for my private hire taxi job with Car planet which i thought would be pleasant experience but the vehicle i chose wasnt compliant and when i wanted to change it over to compliant vehicle the manager working there said it was the customers duty to check if the vehicle is suitable and compliant which i needed help as they were meant to be a well established company, i have been trying to contact them over 2 days via messeges and call and the manager never returned my call they see your message but do not bother contacting even though i asked many times for managers call back. I had no choice but to go to the dealership to solve the issue with the sales advisor who seemed to help me, but the manager in charge is very unprofessional and very rude ,didnt even seem bothered to even help me at all and I wasted a whole day even though my finance was approved by first response but the manager refused it, and then they accusing me off leaving the vehicle log book and key of at the desk of the one I wanted to return because they wouldn't hand me over the vehicle which one I chose and was agreed by the finance team at first response i had no choice but to leave even though i loved the car i chose but no customers should be spoken down at and not helped at all ..Customers really need to be careful when buying vehicle especially dealing with the manager there who has no people skills at all and made me regret travelling all way to buy a vehicle from car planet.
Unfortunately I had a terrible experience which is still ongoing. When I test drove the car the wrench light came on, the sales person shirked me off by saying it was the tyre pleasure, the manufacturer advised me that it could be other more serious problems. I insisted that further investigation be carried out. The car was fine but I would have expected them to carry out full diagnostics for our reassurance. We could not drive the car away as they could not find the log book hence it could not be taxed, they sent us to the post office the following day to sort this out. They promised to deliver the car but did not as apparently the driver was off sick. I went up there the following day and spent several hours trying to sort out incorrect paperwork. They then told me that the car only had one key. Apparently they have ordered a new one which I am yet to receive. The day we purchased the car they sent us home in an Uber promising to refund us, again we have not received anything. They mis sold us an over inflated RAC warranty, they conveniently failed to tell us of exclusions not covered by the warranty. I have since found out that RAC are only paid an admin fee, the remaining amount is kept by Car Planet, I am assuming this is their fee again which they were not transparent about. I have just about managed to cancel this policy with RAC but have been told that Car Planet need to refund us as they hold the bulk of the money, we now await the refund. I have been asked by many people about my experience and told them to stay away and would urge anyone to do the same. They are only interested in taking your money, they are happy to lie and have no care for you.
Edit: on reflection, I remember the day we purchased the car, when the salesperson was trying his hardest to sell us the RAC warranty he showed us a video of a broken down car with the engine smoking up, he said that this was his car and he wishes he had purchased the warranty as it cost him ££££ to repair, I believe this was another lie to pressure us into buying the warranty.
After a horrible experience with the Watford branch, I visited the Barnet branch at their request and eventually purchased my car from there.
Comparatively, the Barnet branch is much better than Watford. The team did make genuine efforts to gain my confidence, and the sales experience itself was good. For that reason, I would rate them positively for sales and customer handling before purchase.
However, I am disappointed with the after-sales service. I was clearly informed that I would receive a cashback, but it has now been more than 7 days and I am still following up with no response. Despite multiple follow-ups via email, WhatsApp, and phone calls, no one has gotten back to me.
Based on my experience, while the sales process was handled well, the after-sales support has not been satisfactory. I would advise customers to be careful and ensure all commitments are fulfilled before purchasing. I have screenshots of all follow-ups as evidence.
Had a great experience with these guys!
Absolutely nailed it with understanding my needs, and dealing with the whole process of acquiring a new car! Will definitely use them in the next car we buy and sell!
Very professional outfit.
Serious emissions fault shortly after purchase – no reimbursement offered
I purchased a Mercedes-Benz E220 from Car Planet Watford in October 2025. Within a relatively short ownership period, the vehicle developed an AdBlue/SCR fault that triggered a mileage countdown, meaning the car would eventually become undriveable.
The vehicle was initially inspected by an independent garage, which identified SCR/AdBlue-related faults and advised further investigation. Following this, the vehicle was inspected by a garage appointed through the dealer’s own repair network and then by an authorised Mercedes-Benz main dealer.
Mercedes-Benz confirmed a failure of the SCR/AdBlue tank module, a major emissions-control component, which required full replacement. This is not a service or wear-and-tear item.
Due to the active countdown and my reliance on the vehicle for work, I had no reasonable alternative but to authorise the repair under necessity. The total cost was £1,686.36, supported by full Mercedes-Benz diagnostic reports and invoices.
Despite providing this documentation, Car Planet declined to reimburse the repair cost, relying on the position that diagnostics cannot determine the precise moment an internal electronic failure began. No allegation of misuse, contamination, or driver error has been made by Mercedes-Benz or the independent garages involved.
I am disappointed by the level of after-sales support provided when faced with a serious, immobilising fault on a recently purchased vehicle. The matter has now been escalated for independent review.
Prospective buyers may wish to consider carefully how significant faults are handled once a sale has been completed.
7After leaving my last 3 reviews I finally got a response...they offered to refund me for some parts that I had to order and pay for that they forgot to fit back on the car after the 2nd or 3rd fail attempt to repair the car and gave it back with 2 heat sheilds missing from front driveshafts two plastic covers from wheel arches an inspection cover from the gearbox housing and the bolts..it makes me laugh because they have acted like they have done me a favour and trying to shut me up and stop me from letting other people know what to expect from there dogshit company all i want is some of the £1388 they stole from my refund to cover there failed botched repairs and calling it milage..CAR PLANET I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR THE MILEAGE YOU YOU HAVE STOLEN FROM ME WHILST BRINGING IT BACK AND FORTH FOR REPAIRS FOR 7 MONTHS FROM SURREY TO WATFORD AND ENFIELD....I will not stop leaving reviews untill you give me my money back.
Please please please do not buy a car from these clowns
The pre-sales experience aligns with what you might expect from a car dealership; engaging, supportive, and informative, albeit in a somewhat rushed manner aimed at guiding you toward a purchase. They are eager for you to buy, so it's wise to come prepared and thoroughly review the website for your preferences before visiting. Be ready for a strong push regarding additional options like warranties and other add-ons. The pressure to opt for all the extras can become quite intense, but this is par for the course. We left with the car we desired and received the necessary assistance from the team to make that decision. CAUTION
However, the post-sale experience reveals a different story. At pickup, we were assured that certain expenses would be covered by the management, and we were asked to pay with our card with the promise of reimbursement. Unfortunately, that reimbursement never materialized, and after numerous follow-up calls where we were told it was being processed, the sales manager began ignoring my calls, seemingly having no intention of covering any costs, simply wanting us out the door. This unfortunate situation severely undermines their credibility and gives off a somewhat unprofessional impression. Effective sales practices are rooted in trust, and they fell short after the sale was completed by behaving unprofessionally and, regrettably, dishonestly.
The representatives I interacted with were highly professional, friendly, and welcoming. I appreciated the absence of any pressure to buy during the test drive. The vehicle was in excellent condition, and I made a purchase that day. However, the reception staff could have been more inviting and engaging.
