Unsatisfactory Interaction

Unfortunately, my recent experience was not positive. While I had good interactions before, the current hiring approach for individuals with mental health challenges lacks empathy, making it feel like a case of the blind leading the blind.

Not Suitable for Service

My experiences with the service and its partners in the area have been disappointing. The offered services fall short of professionalism and effectiveness. Many staff members, both paid and volunteers, display discriminatory behavior, dehumanizing those with mental health issues. They are often rude and uncaring, breaching confidentiality by sharing personal information with public services. They demand excessive personal details under the guise of risk assessments, dismissing any challenges to their procedures. My experience with the helpline was distressing, as I was subjected to an unnecessary mental health assessment without my consent. When I raised concerns, I felt further victimized and ignored. This service appears to lack compassion and fairness, failing to deliver the support it is funded to provide.

Disheartening Experience

Regrettably, my experience was not good. I had positive interactions in the past, but now the approach to employing individuals with mental health challenges lacks empathy, making it feel like the blind leading the blind.

Inadequate Support

I sought help during a frightening situation, but the helpline was very disrespectful. The staff are overwhelmed, leading to minimal time spent with clients. I’ve faced hostility from management for raising concerns. While one staff member was kind, the overall experience was marred by inadequate support and poor grant handling. This service often makes vulnerable individuals feel belittled rather than respected. There is a clear need for a thorough audit of this service, as it is funded by taxpayer money to assist those in need.

Poor Management

The management at this service is appalling, and bullying seems to be tolerated. It feels like a poorly run organization.

Unhelpful Moderation

In my view, the forum is overseen by moderators who are unhelpful and often upset if challenged, which does not support the mental health of community members as they claim.

Limited Help for Serious Issues

If you are dealing with moderate to severe mental health issues, this service is not the right place for you. They tend to redirect you elsewhere if you appear distressed.

Exceptional Charity Support

This charity provides excellent advice and support for those struggling with mental health issues or in crisis. The staff at the branch I visited were incredibly helpful during a challenging period, assisting me in finding affordable therapy and other resources.

Disastrous Referral Experience

Referred from a community mental health team, I found the service focused more on gathering personal information for funding rather than providing help. Many staff appear inexperienced and unqualified, making it feel futile to seek support.
