UPDATE: I received a refund & explanation. Character limits here prevent me writing all I'd like, so for the sake of others & as their website is misleading, this is what you get with Pro Plus...1) The $1 discount is ONLY applicable when you buy music via the Apple or Android apps.2) The 15% discount is ONLY applicable when you buy via the WEBSITE.3) I cannot see any way you can receive both the $1 and 15% discounts for the same transaction.4) The price on the app seems to vary but the songs I looked at all cost MORE than on the WEBSITE even after the $1 discount. The discount is taken from the price quoted on the app, not the price quoted on the website. Some of my last update was harsh, but I'm trying to be fair. I have adjusted my rating from 1 star to 3, as I think Musicnotes has the best website and it's quite easy to follow compared with others. I do feel a bit tricked, but maybe they just need to word things better, and read it back from the perspective of someone who has never used them before. Although they took a while to reply to me, it was a Weekend plus holiday, so I accept they weren't terrible but it was frustrating that I was stuck in limbo for nearly a week and couldn't buy new music.--------------------------Original review: After buying a few songs, I saw their ad for Pro Plus. It was clearly stated that if you paid for a year, you'd get 15% discount plus $1 off if you buy using the app. I paid up, thinking I would save money, plus get PDFs. I then tried buying music. I chose a song that cost (all in GBP) 4.10 on the website. I got a 15% discount, giving a total of 3.49. However, the app price should be $1 less, right? That same song on the app cost 5.49 GBP. That was crossed out and a new price of 4.59 showed. I'd assume that equated to my $1 discount. Where's the other 15%, and why is the final price 4.59, when on the website it's 4.10 before discount and 3.49 after? I wrote to support last Friday (it's now Thursday). I have had no reply. I wrote on their Facebook group a few times & they kept copy/pasting an insulting comment about how they need to pay artists for using their music. I'm well aware of that, hence PAYING YOU so I can BUY rights to use the music you provide. I was also told that if I bought via the website I'd see further discounts. Well I used the app because the website tells me I'll get an extra $1 off the "list price". Well that clearly means the list price on the website. It says nothing about the app being priced higher, meaning that after the $1 discount I'd still be paying MORE! I assumed this was an error. I wrote several times on Facebook asking for clarification and it has not been provided. So with that, plus the fact I have still not received a reply from support, I'm forced to write this review. If Musicnotes tell me it's all a big mistake, I'm happy to edit this review, but how it stands now, I consider Musicnotes to have intentionally misled me into buying a Pro Plus subscription. I do still get benefits if buying from the website, but without the extra $1 discount I was supposed to get I may well not have bought that subscription. I read and re-read their website several times, and I read the exceptions, but it couldn't have been clearer that the price you pay when buying from the app would be $1 plus 15% off. It was never stated that the initial price on the app would be so much higher than the website price. I believe they intentionally hid that fact.I have given them a chance to explain, but they have not. I was excited to play my new piano with new music that I paid for rather than stealing it from non-reputable websites (like many others do) over the Weekend and holiday Monday. However, with all this, and the stress it's caused me, I have not touched my piano since Friday. It might seem like a small matter to most, and I can't blame Musicnotes for my own stress issues, but that's why I'm so annoyed by this. I have a constant worry all day every day that I will not get my Pro Plus membership fee back without a big fight, and I want to avoid that. Even if I get that back, I never want to use your app again so I also want the other music I've bought refunded so I can use another company & start again. Of course I won't get a refund on everything and you are not obliged to give me that, but that is HOW I FEEL.Musicnotes - Please do the right thing & put this right. I'll update this review if you fix things or explain and it turns out I've got it all wrong. I want my money back, AT LEAST the subscription. On my last review complaining about ads being sent to me after buying music, I was offered a refund. However, I did NOT ask for a refund. You gave a fair reply, I updated my review & star rating to reflect that, and didn't ask for a refund despite your kind offer, as I believe in fairness to everyone. I did the right & moral thing. Now it's your turn to do the right & moral thing.
This is my go-to service for getting any current tunes with the right changes. It also has different versions of the song graded from professional to beginner. It’s great for singers since the app transposes songs into different keys. Also, it’s more portable (w/iPad, etc.) rather than buying sheet music on paper.
After finding Musicnotes I thought I had found the site I had been looking for for months.I joined as a Premium Plus member, downloaded the Windows Musicnotes player and looked forward to playing on my new Korg EK50 That never happened. Is it supposed to connect to the keyboard with USB to midi? because it doesn't work with my Korg even after installing the correct USB/midi driverI will willing change my rating if you can tell me how to get it to work.
