I sought a private chemistry tutor from NGL for my daughter at the beginning of year 11 in preparation for her GCSE’s - it was a subject she was worried about and I am so glad we pursued it just wish we had done it sooner- she is now going into her exams confident in her ability to achieve her predicted grade, in fact she is predicted a grade higher since the tutoring began! My daughter did experience three different tutors during the 8 months with NGL due to people leaving but she developed positive relationships with all three - they were supportive, encouraging, patient and provided homework tasks and linked resources for revision. Her latest tutor Zainab Kamran was lovely with her.I would definitely recommend NGL for anyone needing that extra support in particular subjects. Only thing I would suggest people to be mindful of is to pick a day and time you will be able to stick to, although the tutors are flexible if you can’t do your usual day/time, if you miss a week you are still charged, instead the time just gets made up either by extending your next couple of lessons or having an additional lesson - my daughter is busier than me so sometimes it was hard to stick to the same day/time every week!
Camille had a great tutor, Ariana who designed lessons based on the exam requirements and where Camille thought she had challenges. This helped Camille tailor her revision and gave her confidence through her GCSE's taking her grade up two points. Ariana's time was flexible so we could move lessons when Camille had extra study sessions at school or when she was tired from other exams. The wider confidence Camille has about science is in no small part to the hard work Ariana put in.
Madison Laye was my daughter's English tutor and was extremely helpful and beneficial preparing her for her GCSE English exams. She gave my daughter the confidence and knowledge to tackle the GCSE papers and was extremely professional and friendly.

My daughter started sessions with Lynn Widdowson in Jan 2025 in preparation for SATs and it’s been a brilliant experience for all of us.Our main aim was to build confidence and reduce stress. That has certainly been achieved as she went off this morning for her first exam happy and secure. Lynn was brilliant at covering the curriculum and also using any areas we raised to go over and working together to find the topics that would be the most useful. Exam techniques have been invaluable as has the positive reinforcement that has made such a difference.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lynn and NLG to anyone looking for a tutor. It’s a very straightforward process and the benefits have been fantastic for us as a family.
I homeschool my 9 year old daughter and I was looking for an English tutor, so I approached the national learning group. We were matched with a wonderful tutor Sian Davis who has been absolutely incredible. My daughter had very little confidence in reading and writing and with the guidance from Sian she is now doing wonderful and has grown in confidence every week. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough the service from joining up, to the tutor sessions and the whole process has been great.
