I ordered a rug and display cabinet from Oka on 23rd December 2025. While I expected some delay over Christmas, there was no communication at all until I chased customer service 3 weeks later — and the very next day I was told it had been dispatched. It felt like if I hadn’t followed up, I’d have been waiting even longer.

I paid £90 for two-person delivery, yet the team still needed help getting the furniture into my apartment. The cabinet required assembly, and my partner had to assist. After over an hour of trying, it became clear there was a manufacturing fault as the pieces didn’t fit together properly.

The furniture is described as handmade, which I appreciate, but the quality shouldn’t be compromised. The doors are wonky and the handles misaligned — not what you expect from a high-end brand.

I was offered a return or a repair via a third party. Booking the repair was easy, but the next appointment was three weeks later. The technician arrived alone and needed help from my partner to lift the heavy parts. Thankfully, he was professional and fixed the issue.

While the cabinet is now assembled (10th February 2026), the lack of communication, high delivery fee, faults, and long waiting times have left me hesitant to order again. I would have expected some compensation or a refund of the delivery charge.

The rug looks beautiful and matches the photos, but it’s shedding heavily — my clothes get covered in fibres when I sit on it. I’m hoping this improves, otherwise I’ll be considering a return.

A beautiful cushion cover

A beautiful cushion cover. Bought in the sale and charged £10 for postage which I think excessive

Good product, terrible delivery service

Good product, delivery was not good considering I had to pay £50. The box arrived damaged and the painting had a dent in it. Spent quite a while flattening it out. Did let Oka know but as I’d sorted the problem by then, I didn’t get a further response. Disappointing!

  • What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. We believe that’s the secret to living beautifully: enjoying it.

OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades.

From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. It’s ever-changing but unwaveringly British; elegant and easy-going; sophisticated but never stiff.

And our name? OKA is a phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, yet feels innately British. A blend of cultures and aesthetics working in perfect harmony, which is at the heart of everything we do.

Building on over two decades of collections, 13 experiential stores in the UK, a website, and an ideas-packed magazine, we’ve become a destination for lovers of home, season after season. And the more we continue to follow our passion for design, the more we inspire others to find theirs.See more
