When they advertise Buy 4 Get 4 free doesn't mean you will get 8 pairs of socks in that order. This is not good advertising. Always email them 1st for any questions. If they do not respond within 5 working days, walk away! And no, they do not send from Christchurch, New Zealand, because if they did, my socks would have arrived within 3 days, not 10!
I purchased one of their advertised deals. Buy four get four free. I thought what a great deal for Alpaca socks... Delivery time was quite good considering it came to Australia from New Zealand, customs etc. This is where the good finishes and the not so good starts. Hence the one star for delivery. I bought the ankle socks and wished I hadn't. The first time and the second time, using different socks, both times the heel consistently rides under the foot in sand shoes. Not only does the heel slide under the foot but the entire sock moves sideways in the sand shoe. So obviously no support/grip to hold the sock in place when wearing. Nobody likes a lump under their foot; therefore, the socks are not fit for purpose. Zero stars for the socks themselves.Size wise I wear a size 11.5 US sand shoe, so using Olive & Jet's sizing chart bought the XXL size socks. So I would say be very cautious of their sizing chart.I'm thinking of washing them in hot water hoping they'll shrink after all they're useless now so what do I have to lose... Oh yeah money.
The courier arranged by these guys delivered to a address that was unattended over the weekend and then told me it was my problem and to contact the courier company to find the person that stole my goods, Great work guys Buyers be careful
I purchased two pair of the Alpaca socks. Waited some time for them to arrive, then found out that there is more acrylic than alpaca product in the fabric. I paid over $30 each, and it is a complete rip off. I am not sending the socks back because I can't be bothered with the back and forward correspondence it would take to retrieve even a part refund. I had suspected this would happen, even before I read previous reviews.
I ordered Alpaca socks from this company as they advertised that they were selling an Alpaca product from New Zealand. I received the socks and the tag said 45% Alpaca with 55% acylic and nylon. They were also made in China. I tried one on and my feet instantly felt claustrophobic. This tells me that the composition of the socks was more synthetic than natural. I contacted the to return and they said we'll give you 35% off to keep them. I looked at the postage cost to send them back and it was almost the exact same price they offered off so I knew this was a grift. They make money by keeping the difference etc. The socks probably cost $3 and they profit by the $60 they keep etc. Do not buy from this fraudulent company. They mislead you and you'll be unhappy. After reading the company's response on Mar. 18, 2026 I would like to add that I have replied to them with these same unhappy comments when they sent me a review after my purchase. I have not yet received a reply? Also, if you go to their web page or look at their advertising, you'll not find any mention of China, but you'll be left with the impression that the socks are from New Zealand and you won't find any mention of a blended Alpaca sock made with acrylic and polyester. That's only apparent once you buy the socks and you read the label. I would appreciate an opportunity to resolve these complaints with the option to receive a full refund including postage.
These socks were marketed as tougher than merino with a 90 day comfort guarantee. Neither claim is true. I have merino socks that are a couple years old with no issues. When I contacted the company after about 8 weeks stating my socks were badly worn, I was told there is no 90 day guarantee it is a comfort guarantee. You are only permitted to try them with light use around your home for a day or two. Pardon? Save your money.
Well my order arrived. Didn't take too long considering they travelled from China to Australia (regional country town). They fit my UK size 13 foot (XXL sock size) well. Feel good, was a little shocked they are only 45% Alpaca and 55% synthetic (4 different variants). We will have to wait and see how they test the daily work day in the work boots, 5 days a week? I bought the bulk pack (pay 4 get 4 free, with a first time customer discount) working out at $17 per pair. So they have a lot to prove....
These socks feel beautifully soft (45% alpaca, the rest synthetic) but that's where my positive experience ends. If you are a woman who takes a size 7 in UK, ignore their misleading guidance on what size sock to buy and get a L, NOT XL. The XL bunch up in my boots and because they're too big, they rub and make my feet sore. They also have a loose leg fitting. I bought the crew socks so that I wouldn't show any leg when I'm wearing my 'ankle-grazer' trousers in Winter but they just fall down, so I'm showing my legs anyway! The company owner told me to return them for an exchange but at MY expense (postage to New Zealand!), even though their sales ad told me to buy a size XL, which was wrong information. Not wanting to pay hefty postal charges, they offered to make amends by giving me a small refund but they still don't understand that a small refund for socks I can't wear is pointless and these socks aren't cheap, even when on special offer, so a total waste of money (I purchased 8 pairs).
These socks are lovely.I was very unsure about the company to begin with due to the fact it took so long to receive them. I did email them and was 100% guaranteed that they were legitimate.I’m very pleased with the quality and feel of the socks.I generally buy bridgedale and thought I’d give them a go, I haven’t washed them yet(got 3 pairs) so can’t say how they will come out.I can’t see any reason to mistrust the company. My partner is very fussy about socks and drives me nuts, he likes them for the softness and feel.

The softest, driest, most comfortable socks you've ever worn. Olive & Jet harnesses the natural magic of alpaca fibre — incredibly soft, naturally moisture-wicking, and temperature-regulating in a way synthetic fibres simply can't match. Feel the difference.
