Everything was explained with great care. What happens, what side effects could occur.Which was really reassuring. The operation was a better experience than I expected due to being talked too throughout the procedure
I was initially anxious about undergoing eye surgery, but from the moment I arrived, I felt calm and reassured. The procedure was somewhat uncomfortable, yet not painful. The only frustrating part was having to take it easy afterward and not being able to wash my hair. Just minor inconveniences!
The surgeon was approachable and completed the operation in just over 10 minutes. However, I spent more than 2 hours in the waiting area before being called. Had I known about the delay, I would have taken a walk. There was no communication regarding the wait time. I later learned staff illness caused cancellations for afternoon procedures. The male nurse was supportive and friendly. There was a brief power outage during my visit, but it didn't seem to affect the welcoming staff.
My cataract was removed earlier this week. From my pre-assessment appointment, I waited two weeks. The staff are very friendly and help ease any concerns, explaining everything they do. I would definitely recommend the service.
My eye is healing well, and the staff were lovely. However, I received a message about an appointment on January 27th, but it didn't clarify if it was for another operation, leaving me confused. Despite numerous attempts, I still haven't managed to get through by phone.
All the staff were efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the wait time was minimal. My only concern is the phone system, which is quite challenging to navigate. I resolved this by visiting the private patient department and requesting a transfer, which felt like a waste of their time.
The overall experience in the clinic was excellent on both occasions (two separate cataract operations) and deserves 5 stars. All the staff and surgeons were helpful and courteous. However, the centralized phone service is the worst I've encountered for an NHS facility. On one occasion, I called twelve times throughout the day without an answer. Email is the best way to contact them, as they respond quickly and are very helpful. If the phone service could be improved, this would be nearly a perfect experience.
